Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, the runner-up for the Democratic Party’s nomination for president in 2016, told an audience on CNN Wednesday night that Americans would be happy to pay more in federal income taxes if he could just explain to them it would mean they’ll get more “free” government benefits, including health care, child care and college.

In a televised debate against Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Sanders told the audience the American people would support his economic vision if only he were able to explain it to them.

“If we can explain to people, ‘Yeah, you’re going to be paying more in taxes. It’s going to be a progressive tax system,’” Sanders told the crowd, “‘The wealthy are going to pay their fair share, not the middle class, not the working class, but everybody will pay some more. But you’re gonna get free health care, and maybe you’re gonna get free child care, and maybe your kids are gonna be able to go to college tuition-free. You know what? You’re gonna better off than under Ted’s system.’”

Sanders recently introduced a Medicare For All bill to extend the government-run health insurance program for the elderly and disabled to all Americans. His bill, which has garnered support from one third of the Democrats in the U.S. Senate, would extend benefits not only to all Americans, but to illegal aliens as well.

Man Lived in the Woods for Ten Years to Avoid Nagging Wife

FOX NEWS – A British man said he hid in the woods for 10 years to escape his wife.

Malcolm Applegate, 62, said he left his wife after she continued to argue with him over his increased workhours as a gardener, The Daily Mail reported.

“For three years it was alright, we got on with one another and the gardening got too much for her,” Applegate said.

He said that the more work he took on, the angrier his wife became. She eventually demanded that he cut back on his work schedule which led Applegate to leaving.

“Without a word to anyone, not even family, I packed up and left,” he said.

After three years of marriage, Applegate just “upped and left” his home in Birmingham and travel by foot to London because his bike was stolen along the way.

He camped in the woods with two other individuals and worked on gardens at a community center for the elderly, the Daily Mail reported.

The gardener spent a decade away from his wife and family but finally reconnected with his sister after writing her a letter.

“It had been a decade years since I’d last seen her, and in that time she had been to all of the Salvation Army hostels in the south trying to find me,” Applegate said.

“We now have a great relationship again.”

Black Man Attacks Disabled White Man For ‘Putting His Ancestors Into Slavery’

A disabled white man was attacked on a Maryland mass transit bus by an African American who seemed to be blaming the victim for putting his ancestors into slavery, according to police.

The 52-year-old victim was a passenger on a Metro bus in the Washington, DC, suburb of Silver Spring, Maryland, when Marquis Evans-Royster, 27, began spitting in his face and hurling racial epithets at him, according to ABC in Washington.

The harassment began almost immediately after Evans-Royster boarded the bus without paying the fare, police said.

 The victim, who is homeless and remains unnamed in reports, initially tried to ignore Evans-Royster’s taunts but finally tried to push the attacker away when he began to go through the victim’s pockets while yelling, “You owe me for making my grandmother a slave.”

When other passengers began to try and intervene to stop Evans-Royster from attacking the victim, the attacker threatened to douse them with urine.

The threat caused one bus rider to tell the media that Evans-Royster must also have some sort of mental problem. “Who carries around a bottle a urine?” bus rider Desi Cureton scoffed.

At length, the bus driver threatened to call police causing Evans-Royster to jump off the bus and run away.

Police identified Evans-Royster from bus surveillance video and he was arrested four days after the incident and charged with assault and racial harassment. The attacker already has a long police record including charges of race or religious harassment, robbery, and assault.

Tyrone Kenney, a 70-year-old black man who grew up during the Civil Rights Era, decried the incident.

“It speaks to the state of the times,” Kenney said. “People are desperate, they’re looking for leadership, they’re looking for guidance, but they’re not getting it at home, they’re not getting it from government. It’s a period of time I’ve never seen before.”

Evans-Royster will be represented by a public defender and will next appear in court on October 27.

Perv Wiener’s Laptop Had 2,800 Documents From Huma

Don’t hold your breath for anything more than an investigation.

Disgraced former Congressman Anthony Weiner’s laptop had 2,800 government documents that were sent to his computer by his wife Huma Abedin, according to investigators.

The blockbuster report was revealed by Judicial Watch after they sued the State Department for failing to respond to a FOIA request.

Weiner’s laptop was the focus of the presidential race in 2016, after new emails from her aide Huma Abedin and Clinton were discovered on his computer.

FBI Director James Comey clarified that the investigation of Clinton was ongoing, despite previously exonerating her in a press conference and testifying to congress that the case was closed.

“This is a disturbing development. Our experience with Abedin’s emails suggest these Weiner laptop documents will include classified and other sensitive materials,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton in a statement. “When will the Justice Department do a serious investigation of Hillary Clinton’s and Huma Abedin’s obvious violations of law?”

The emails on Weiner’s computer are of interest as some of them may have not been turned over to the State Department by Clinton, despite her insistence that she only deleted 33,000 emails that were “private.”

President Donald Trump has come under fire for his ‘insensitive’ choice of words when speaking to the pregnant widow of one of the four U.S. Special Forces soldiers killed in Niger.

Trump phoned Myeshia Johnson on Tuesday afternoon to give his condolences over the death of her husband Sgt. La David Johnson, according to Rep. Frederica Wilson.

During the five minute call, Wilson said, Trump told Johnson that her 25-year-old husband ‘knew what he signed up for… but when it happens it hurts anyway.’

The remark – delivered with a car full of people listening on speakerphone – drew instant condemnation, but Trump said Wednesday morning that it was entirely made up.

‘Democrat Congresswoman totally fabricated what I said to the wife of a soldier who died in action (and I have proof). Sad!’ the president tweeted.

A White House spokesperson did not respond to a question Wednesday morning about what Trump’s evidence consists of.

Wilson fired back quickly on CNN, citing several people in the car who were aware of Trump’s remarks and saying: ‘This gentleman has a brain disorder, and he needs to be checked out. … We should be praising his family, not insulting them.’

She said Trump ‘should be asking for an apology, and asking, giving her some empathy and love, and wrapping his arms around this family … instead of calling me a liar and claiming everyone else in the car is a liar.’

Wilson had said she was sitting beside the grieving widow when she took the call, while they were on their way to Miami International Airport where Johnson’s remains were arriving on a commercial flight.

On MSNBC, she said that the call ‘was horrible. It was insensitive. It was absolutely crazy. Unnecessary. I was livid!’

And the widow Mrs. Johnson, she recalled, ‘was in tears. And she said, “He didn’t even remember his name!”‘

‘Yes, he said it,’ Wilson had told WPLG on Tuesday evening.

‘It’s so insensitive. He should have not have said that. He shouldn’t have said it.’

Also travelling in the car to the airport on Tuesday was Miami-Dade Commissioner Barbara Jordan, who said she was shocked by what she heard.

‘What the family wants to hear is words of encouragement, words of how he fought for his country, what his sacrifice meant for this country … not, “You know what you signed up for”,’ she said on MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’ program.

Johnson’s mother, Cowanda Jones-Johnson, told The Washington Post that she heard Trump’s words, and that ‘President Trump did disrespect my son and my daughter, and also me and my husband.’

Asked if Wilson’s recollection of the call was accurate, she replied: ‘Yes.’

Heartbreaking footage later showed Johnson, who is expecting the couple’s third baby in January, sobbing as she leaned over her husband’s flag-draped coffin.

The couple’s six-year-old daughter stood by the coffin with her mother, while their two-year-old son waited in the arms of a relative standing nearby.

Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton reacted on Twitter to news of Trump’s phone call saying: ‘Mrs Johnson, I cannot begin to imagine your loss. Your family & all who mourn Sgt. Johnson are in my prayers & those of countless Americans.’

Staff Sgt. Bryan Black, Staff Sgt. Jeremiah Johnson, Staff Sgt. Dustin Wright and Sgt. La David Johnson were all killed when militants thought to be affiliated with the Islamic State group ambushed them while they were patrolling in unarmored trucks with Niger troops.
