CNN Botches Major ‘Bombshell’ Alleging Contacts Between Don Jr. And WikiLeaks

CNN misreported key details of an offer made to Donald Trump Jr. last year of a batch of stolen Wikileaks documents.

The story, which CNN published on Friday and covered extensively on TV, was touted as the first evidence that the Trump campaign was given a heads-up about documents stolen from Democrats.

But the story appears to have been riddled with errors, while also lacking key context.

Perhaps the most jarring error in the CNN report is the date on which Trump Jr. was sent the email. The network reported that a person named Mike Erickson emailed Trump Jr. and others on the Trump campaign on Sept. 4, 2016, with a link to Wikileaks documents as well as a decryption key to access them.

The email also offered access to emails that had been stolen from former Sec. of State Colin Powell, according to CNN.

But a copy of the email provided to The Daily Caller shows that Erickson sent the email on Sept. 14.

That date is significant because WikiLeaks had released a batch of stolen documents on Sept. 13. The group touted its release of the DNC documents, which were published by Guccifer 2.0.

The email shows that Erickson messaged Trump Jr. stating that “Wikileaks has uploaded another (huge 678 mb) archive of files from the DNC.”

“It is too big for me to send you by e-mail attachments, but you can download it yourselves,” he added, providing a link to the same website cited by Wikileaks the day before.

He also included a link to a decryption key that could be used to access the documents.

The Washington Post first reported on the true date and wording of the Erickson email.

The site that Erickson linked to leads to a page where a file with the same file name referenced in the Wikileaks tweet could be downloaded.

Powell’s emails were also published online on Sept. 13. DC Leaks, a group that has been affiliated with the Russian government, published the documents online. The group granted access to the documents to several news organizations, including The Daily Caller. How CNN got its report so wrong is unclear.

The article states that its information was based on a read-out of the Trump Jr. email provided by an unnamed source. Trump Jr.’s lawyer, Alan Futerfas, speculated on Friday that the source was on the Democratic side of the House Intelligence Committee, which interviewed Trump Jr. earlier this week.

Erickson also appears not to be a super-secret Kremlin agent. The Post identified him as the president of an aviation management company.

Attempts made by The Daily Caller to contact him were unsuccessful.

Futerfas, the lawyer for Trump Jr., said that the real estate executive received “tons of unsolicited emails” during the campaign.

“The email was never read or responded to — and the House Intelligence Committee knows this,” he said in a statement.

“This email arrived after published media reports disclosed 12 hours earlier that hacked documents had been posted. The suggestion that this information was not public is false.”

Futerfas blasted the House Intelligence Committee over what he says is its leak of the story.

“It is profoundly disappointing that members of the House Intelligence Committee would deliberately leak a document, with the misleading suggestion that the information was not public, when they know that there is not a scintilla of evidence that Mr. Trump Jr. read or responded to the email,” he said.

NBC Qua Joy Reid Bashes Gays With No Repercussions

NBC News’s Homophobe: 11 Times Joy Reid Bashed Gays

Lip service from anyone, much less a mega-corporation, means absolutely nothing. If you want to understand the values of a person or entity, you have to watch what they do. Yes, it is actually true that actions speak louder than words, and according to the actions not taken this week by NBC News, the left-wing network is making it quite clear that Gay Lives Do Not Matter.
Joy Reid currently works for MSNBC as a political analyst, weekend anchor, and appears on NBC News’s crown jewel, Meet the Press with Chuck Todd.

Like everyone else at NBC, Reid is a hardcore leftist and social justice warrior. But…

Between 2007-2009, Reid, who was then a 40 year-old woman with ten years of experience in journalism under her belt, authored more than a dozen outrageously homophobic posts at her personal site, the Reid Report (that were just unearthed by @Jamie_Maz).

For two whole years, Reid maintained a crusade to personally destroy then-Governor Charlie Crist (R-FL) with the worst kind of hateful gay-bashing I have ever seen outside of a high school, much less from a prominent figure working in the legitimate media. There is not even a close second place.

Although there is absolutely no evidence that Crist (now a Democrat congressman) is homosexual, for two-plus years, Reid was relentless with her gay-hating diatribes. On top of that, she believed she was outing the twice-married (to women) Crist.

Below is the worst of it, much of it in the context of toxifying, vilifying, and disqualifying Crist — the then- popular governor of a crucial swing state — from serving as John McCain’s 2008 running mate against Barack Obama. There is little doubt, Reid was laying the groundwork to personally destroy Crist as a homosexual, should he get the nod.

Outing Charlie Crist with an unproven conspiracy theory:
“Miss Charlie, Miss Charlie. Stop pretending, brother It’s okay that you don’t go for the ladies.”

Using Crist’s (false) sexual preference to disqualify him from public office:
“When a gay politician gets married, it usually indicates that he is highly ambitious, and desires to put himself in a position to move up the power ladder.”

Homophobic name-calling:
On at least 17 occasions, Reid sarcastically refers to Crist as “Miss Charlie.”

Homophobic taunts directed at Crist and his (female) wife:
“Now that he’s married to a girl, Charlie Crist is being sought out for all KINDS of good stuff… [The GOP] are wooing Miss Charlie to run.”

Again:
“I can just see poor Charlie on the honeymoon, ogling the male waiters and thinking to himself, ‘god, do I actually have to see her naked…?’”

Again, this time taunting Crist’s wife after McCain went with a different running mate:
“Oh and if I were Charlie’s fiancée. I wouldn’t bet everything I had on that December wedding. Getting engaged was kind of part of the veep marketing strategy.”

Reid wielding the worst kind of homophobic stereotypes:
“Miss Charlie … would immediately start planning the state funeral down to the last flamingo-shaped napkin and get his decorator to the West Wing faster than you can say ‘George Takei!’”

Disgusting gay-baiting:
“The Florida governor didn’t get tapped by John McCain (get your mind out of the gutter! I meant tapped to be his veep…) and he married a rich lady anyway?”

Again:
“Did I mention Miss Charlie also won’t be on the ticket because he’s gay?”

Reid utilizing the worst kinds of gay stereotypes to mock Crist’s wedding:
“And it wouldn’t be a kind of gay wedding without a guy with a big handlebar mustache in attendance. Thanks, Geraldo!”

More outing by way of a flat-out conspiracy theory:
“But what is most interesting of all is the way [the media] pretend that they don’t all know what they know about Crist’s sexual orientation.”

After writing more than a dozen blatantly homophobic taunts directed at Crist, his wife, and the gay population at large, Reid still has her cushy weekend anchor position.

Now, this should in no way be interpreted as a call from me for NBC News to fire Reid.

My point here is to take a look at the actions and decisions made by NBC News as a means to interpret the news outlet’s values and morality, which in this case is painfully obvious…

Endless, hateful, indefensible acts of homophobia are okay with NBC News.

So now we all know how this so-called progressive news outlet feels about gays and about keeping proven homophobes on the payroll.

And this is why NBC News should be given no moral authority about anything. Never forget Chuck Todd’s crusade to destroy Mitt Romney’s presidential chances in 2012 over words uttered by Republican senate candidate Todd Akin — words that pale in comparison to the Gay-Bashing Hate Machine that is Joy Reid.

Climate Change Alarmists FAKED Sea Level Rise

And they were going to put people in prison for “climate denial”

Tidalgate: Climate Alarmists Caught Faking Sea Level Rise

Alarmist scientists have been caught red-handed tampering with raw data in order to exaggerate sea level rise.

The raw (unadjusted) data from three Indian Ocean gauges – Aden, Karachi and Mumbai – showed that local sea level trends in the last 140 years had been very gently rising, neutral or negative (ie sea levels had fallen).

But after the evidence had been adjusted by tidal records gatekeepers at the global databank Permanent Service for Mean Sea Level (PSMSL) it suddenly showed a sharp and dramatic rise.

The whistle was blown by two Australian scientists Dr. Albert Parker and Dr. Clifford Ollier in a paper for Earth Systems and Environment.

The paper – Is the Sea Level Stable at Aden, Yemen? – examines the discrepancies between raw and adjusted sea level data in Aden, Karachi and Mumbai.

Kenneth Richard at No Tricks Zone reports:

The authors expose how PSMSL  data-adjusters make it appear that stable sea levels can be rendered to look like they are nonetheless rising at an accelerated pace.

The data-adjusters take misaligned and incomplete sea level data from tide gauges that show no sea level rise (or even a falling trend).  Then, they subjectively and arbitrarily cobble them together, or realign them.   In each case assessed, PSMSL data-adjusters lower the earlier misaligned rates and raise the more recent measurements.  By doing so, they concoct a new linearly-rising trend.

The authors do not mince their words. They refer to these adjustments as “highly questionable” and “suspicious.”

That’s because they can find no plausible scientific explanation for the adjustments.

As they explain at the beginning of their paper, it is hard to put together consistent sea level records covering a long time period. This is because tide gauges are often the result of multiple sets of data, taken over different time periods using different instruments, which are then spliced together.

What is proposed as a single record in databases such as the Permanent Service for Mean Sea Level (PSMSL) (PSMSL 2017a) is often the composition of data collected by different instruments, sometimes in different locations or over different time windows, with significant gaps in between one measurement and the others. This is the case of the Aden, Yemen tide gauge that is the only tidal location of the Arabian Peninsula spanning a time window long enough to infer a trend and acceleration of the relative sea level (assuming there was continuous measurement and no quality issue). In Aden, similar to Karachi and Mumbai and other tide gauges of the area, a single-tide gauge record is the result of multiple sets of data subjectively coupled together. While a new tide gauge is recording since about 2007, the alignment of the previous data is continuously changing.

So there is nothing per se wrong with PSMSL making adjustments in order to make the different datasets align.

What is wrong is the way that the scientists at PSMSL have adjusted them. In every case, they have revised them in order to make them produce a sharp upward trend in sea level rise – despite the fact that global records do not support this.

The truth, Parker and Ollier conclude in their paper, is that sea level has changed very little in the three sites examined:

The reconstructed tide gauge records of Aden, Mumbai and Karachi are perfectly consistent with multiple lines of evidence from other key sites of the Indian Ocean including Qatar, Maldives, Bangladesh and Visakhapatnam. The sea levels have been stable since the start of the twentieth century in Aden similar to Karachi and Mumbai.

But the official PSMSL data – as used by other global data-keeping bodies such as NOAA – claims that there has been a sharp increase.

In Aden, for example, the alarmists have turned a modest 1.21 mm/year rise into a 3.02 mm/year rise.

In Aden, with data 1880–1969, the trend was + 1.21 mm/year.

Per the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Centre for Operational Oceanographic Products and Services (NOAA 2017a), with data from an intermediate version of a single-tide gauge record by PSMSL we may call (n-1), the sea-level trend in Aden is + 3.02 mm/year based on the monthly average mean sea-level (MSL) results 1879–2011, Fig. 6a (image from NOAA(2017b) downloaded on September 13, 2017).

Using the online analysis tool of Burton’s sealevel.info (Sealevel.info 2017a), with data from the latest update of the PSMSL database that we may call version n, with 2 more years of data, but also with some other corrections, see the data before the year 1900 shifted up, the sea-level trend in Aden is + 1.35 mm/year based on the MSL results 1879–2013, Fig. 6b (image from Sealevel.info (2017b) downloaded on September 13, 2017). Worthy of note, the acceleration is now large and positive.

 Again, there is no plausible scientific explanation for these adjustments.

As the authors put it:

“It is always highly questionable to shift data collected in the far past without any proven new supporting material.”

Indeed, but it is perfectly consistent with the behavior of alarmist scientists in other fields, notably those concerning surface temperature data records. As we have reported here before, there is copious evidence to suggest that the gatekeepers of global warming have consistently and shamelessly cooked the books and rigged the data in order to give the impression that “climate change” is a major and unprecedented phenomenon.

A major part of the global warming scare narrative is that melting ice caps will cause sea levels to rise at a dangerous and unprecedented rate, enveloping low-lying Pacific islands, flooding vulnerable countries like Bangladesh and perhaps one day drowning even places like Manhattan.

There is little if any scientific evidence that this is actually happening.

What’s extraordinary is the desperation of scientists at what ought to be impeccably neutral and trustworthy institutions such as NASA, NOAA and PSMSL to pretend that it is.

When alarmists in charge of surface temperature datasets make dishonest adjustments to exaggerate the appearance of global warming, it looks like corruption.

When alarmists in the entirely separate field of sea level measurement make precisely the same sort of dishonest adjustments in order to accord with the same global warming narrative, it starts to look like a conspiracy.

A former member of the Norwegian royal family claims Kevin Spacey groped his genitals during a Nobel Peace Prize party ten years ago.

Ari Behn, who divorced Princess Märtha Louise of Norway last year, revealed in an interview that he had been propositioned by the Hollywood actor.

Spacey had been hosting the annual Nobel Peace Prize concert in Oslo alongside Uma Thurman, and had sat down for a chat with the then-royal.

‘We had a nice conversation, he was sat next to me,’ Behn, 46, told Norwegian radio station P4.

‘After five minutes, he says “Hey, let’s go out and have a cigarette”, and then he touched me right on the balls under the table.’

Behn, a non-smoker, says he was so surprised he just said; ‘eh, maybe later?’

More than a dozen men have accused Spacey of sexual assault in the wake of an October expose by Buzzfeed which saw actor Anthony Rapp accuse Spacey of forcing himself on him when he was only 14 years old.

At least 15 young men have since come forward to say that he sexually assaulted or attempted to rape them.

Spacey will not appear on the next series of Netflix’s House of Cards and has been replaced by Christopher Plummer in an upcoming drama about oil magnate Jean Paul Getty.

According to his representatives, he is seeking unspecified treatment.

Behn and Princess Märtha Louise married in May 2002 and have three children together: Maud Angelica, 13, Leah Isadora, 11, and Emma Tallulah, eight.

In August last year, the couple announced that they were divorcing, with  Märtha Louise said the couple had ‘grown apart’.

Alongside her royal duties, the princess has written books in which she claimed to have had contacts with angels, while Behn is a writer.

YouTube Censors Polish Government’s Video Exposing Catastrophic Migrant Invasion

The Polish government has fallen victim to YouTube’s selective censorship crackdown after the information giant banished a video exposing Europe’s manufactured migrant crisis to ‘limited state’ limbo.

The video is titled, “Europe opens its eyes and admits us right,” and was posted by Poland’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration.

Its description reads –

“The PiS government withdrew from the harmful decision of the PO-PSL government to bring immigrants from the Middle East and North Africa to Poland. We were the first to say that not every immigrant is a refugee, and only a few flee from war and terror. Two years after the Polish government’s opposition to the admission of illegal immigrants, EU leaders are beginning to understand the absurd policy of compulsory relocation of refugees.”

The video features headlines and footage highlighting various ways the EU’s open borders policies are endangering European civilization, and also demonstrates that Poland’s ruling party, Law and Justice (PiS), has been taking drastic measures to protect the Polish people while clashing regularly with authoritarian bullies in Brussels.

“This problem is connected with what the west of Europe is struggling with – decades of a policy of multiculturalism and political correctness,” says Interior Minister Mariusz Błaszczak in the video. “Our government chooses a responsible way to fight the problem of illegal immigration.”

Incredibly, the short presentation has been flagged as “age inappropriate,” and many standard YouTube features for the video are deactivated, including the comments section, sharing and embedding options, view count, and user rating.
