Oklahoma Senator Caught In Super 8 Motel With Teen Boy

A police department in Oklahoma released body camera footage Monday of former State Senator Ralph Shortey caught in a hotel room with an underage boy, days after he pleaded guilty to child prostitution and pornography charges.

The Moore Police Department released the footage of the encounter that occurred early on March 9 at a Super 8 Motel in Moore, Okla., FOX59 reported.

The footage showed police knocking on the door of a room occupied by Shortey — a Republican — and the underage male. Police said they went to the room after receiving a welfare check call placed by the teen boy’s father.

“So, what are they saying?” one of the officers asked the other.

“Well, drug-related, maybe,” an officer replied. “Maybe was coming here to buy some weed. Either here for narcotics, or prostitution for narcotics.”

“Like the kid’s prostituting himself out?” the other officer asked.

The officers said they smelled marijuana and later discovered a small amount of it in the room along with condoms and lotion found in a backpack that belonged to Shortey, FOX25 News reported.

“Hey, it’s Moore Police Department, man. We just need to check on your welfare, make sure you’re OK. We’re not going away,” the officers were heard saying.

Later the officers were heard talking to someone inside and telling the person to hurry up and get dressed.

The video cuts when the teenager appeared and then picks back up to the officers speaking to Shortey, who was hiding behind the door.

“Come out,” an officer ordered Shortey. “Now, you’re getting me worried, show me your hands.”

Shortey appeared and was wearing a shirt with a reference to the Bible verse from Ephesians 5:22, which called for women to “submit to their husbands,” FOX25 News reported.

The officers told Shortey he was with a 17-year-old male but the former state senator replied, “Can you show me that he’s only 17?”

“I can’t,” an officer replied. “But I can convince you that he is. I can put you in handcuffs and throw you in the back of the car.”

The officers asked what Shortey was doing in the room with the teenager and he said they were having a conversation.

The former state senator was eventually arrested. Police accused Shortey of hiring the 17-year-old for sex.

A police report indicated a search of the teen’s tablet computer uncovered a series of sexually explicit exchanges in which Shortey referred to him as “baby boy” and offered him cash in exchange for “sexual stuff.”

The FBI became involved in the case following Shortey’s arrest and searched his Oklahoma City home.

The married father of four resigned in March after he was arrested on state charges of engaging in child prostitution and transporting a minor for prostitution.

Last Thursday, Shortey pleaded guilty to the charges in exchange for federal prosecutors dropping three child pornography charges against him. He faces between 10 years and life in prison and a fine of up to $250,000 for child sex trafficking. The judge did not set a sentencing date.

Airlines Are Physically Restraining More Unruly Passengers

Sit your ass down and shut up.

Air rage is getting uglier.

As the number of serious incidents involving drunk and violent travelers increases, airlines are being forced to physically restrain an increasing number of disorderly passengers, according to the International Air Transport Association.

Statistics released Tuesday by the industry’s main trade group show a 50 percent rise last year to 169 passengers who were forcibly confined for behavior ranging from verbal and physical abuse to life-threatening actions — the most serious of which involved attempts to enter the cockpit.
The annual tally by IATA of bad form comes as examples of extreme in-flight incidents grab headlines and flood social media. These have included the escort by fighter jets in May of an American Airlines plane to Honolulu after a passenger, who appeared to be intoxicated, attempted to breach the cockpit door.

In some cases, the conflicts erupting in airplanes have hurt carriers’ own reputations, such as when security personnel dragged a passenger from a United Airlines plane because he refused to relinquish his seat. Chief Executive Officer Oscar Munoz apologized for how the company handled the episode.

The number of incidents involving disorderly passengers has risen in recent years, with IATA saying in the past that airlines are increasingly having to navigate local laws to bring prosecutions for offenses and crews have to be trained on how to handle violence.

While the total number of reported incidents last year actually fell by almost 10 percent to 9,837, the portion that were deemed a higher risk increased from 2015. Here’s what unruliness looked like last year:

  • An incident was reported every 1,434 flights
  • 12 percent included physical assault, up from 11 percent a year earlier
  • About a third of all incidents, involving 3,288 passengers, were related to intoxication, including 444 registered as cases that escalated physically

IATA said the more than half of safety rules-related offenses involved passengers smoking on board, either in the main cabin, or more likely, in the bathrooms.

The figures accounts for 190 of the world’s airlines so “are likely to significantly underestimate the extent of the problem,” IATA’s assistant director for external affairs Tim Colehan said in Geneva.

Fake Sign Language Interpreter Steals Show At Tampa Press Conference

Derlyn Roberts ‘signs’ at serial killer press conference LMAO

Sign language interpreter delivered confusion at Seminole Heights news conference

TAMPA, Fla. – Hearing impaired people tuning in to a news conference last week about the arrest of a suspected serial killer in southeast Seminole Heights got a message of gibberish as they watched an American Sign Language interpreter.

Derlyn Roberts, 53, stood to Chief Brian Dugan’s right during the Nov. 28 news conference. She was supposed to be providing sign-language interpretation.

In fact, after hearing from people who complained her signing was inaccurate, officials are still trying to figure out what she was doing there.

People who relied on Roberts for important updates on the Seminole Heights killings, say her translation was garbled and sometimes completely inaccurate.

“From what I understand, she knows enough about sign language that she was able to fake it. But it was not accurate, and it was not clear, and that’s a disservice to the deaf community,” said Tampa Police Department spokesperson Steve Hegarty.

It turns out, Roberts wasn’t hired by TPD.

Roberts apparently heard about the news conference and showed up at their door that night to offer her services. Hegarty said he gratefully accepted and allowed her in.

Only after fielding criticism did TPD find out Roberts has a criminal record. It dates back to 2005 for charges, including organized fraud and false imprisonment. She also has a long list of aliases.

Hegarty said they’re looking into allegations that she’s done the same thing to others.

“She has shown up at some funerals and things like that around town in the past and done some signing,” he said.

Hegarty apologized and pointed out the next day the department was back to using Purple, a certified and vetted sign language translation service.

Julie Church, Executive Director at the Family Center on Deafness in Largo, said it’s an ongoing and potentially dangerous problem.

“If they don’t do their job, or the information is inaccurate, then it can be worse than not having an interpreter at all,” Church said.

In 2013, a fake sign-language interpreter marred the memorial service for former South African President Nelson Mandela.

In September 2017, Manatee County brought in a sign-language interpreter who, instead of informing deaf viewers about Hurricane Irma, mistakenly warned the public about “pizza” and a “bear monster.”

“In Florida, you have to have a license to get your nails done, you have to have a license to get a massage,” Church said. “But, to serve in these critical situations where information is important, anyone can walk in and say ‘I’m an interpreter.’”

Church and others have asked state lawmakers for years to pass a law requiring sign-language interpreters to receive certification.

Currently, there are 13 states with laws in place requiring interpreters to hold state licenses. Florida is not one of them.

Tampa police vow the same thing won’t happen again.

Hegarty said Roberts likely will not face criminal charges because the department did not vet her credentials.

“I don’t know if she was trying to be helpful and just didn’t do a good job,” Hegarty said. “I don’t know if she was trying to put something over on somebody. I have no idea.”

Florida Man With Magic Hands Claims He Can Turn A Girl Into A Woman

Magic hands? Wonder what powers his hair holds.

PALM BAY, Florida – A 19-year-old man told police that his hands contain energy that can turn a girl into a woman at the Eastern Florida State College, according to the report.

The Palm Bay Police Department received a call at 250 Community College Parkway about an incident between and male and female that occurred on campus near the east pond.

Timothy Joseph Rice was approached by officers about the incident. He agreed to talk with police but had a strange story to tell.

“I grabbed her a**, boobs, and pu**y so I can turn her into a woman,” he told officers.

“He began to say how the energy from his hands would turn this girl into a woman. he does not know this girl, but he saw her sitting alone and wanted to help her out by turning her into a woman,” an officer said.

Rice then stated he asked her multiple times to go with him so he could “fu** her,” but she eventually got up and walked away from him.

Officers then made contact with the victim. She does not know who Rice is, but said he sat down next to her, stating she was beautiful and sexy.

The victim said she slapped his hands multiple times for touching her breasts, buttocks, and her inner thighs, the report said.

After all this, Rice still asked the victim to go with him so that they could “fu**” because he wanted her to be his little “slut.”

The victim then located the Armed Officers that patrol the school and made a complaint. They contacted the Palm Bay Police Department.

Rice was arrested and transported to the Brevard County Jail where he was charged with Battery.

DISCLAIMER: Arrests and mugshots were made public by complaint affidavits, arrest affidavits, and police reports. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty.

Pervert Conyers Quits After New Accuser Says He Fondled Her In Church

New accuser: Conyers ran hand up thigh in church

Washington — Another woman who worked for longtime U.S. Rep. John Conyers is accusing him of touching her inappropriately “by stroking and rubbing my thighs” and appearing naked before her.

Elisa Grubbs, who said she worked for Conyers from 2001-13, claims she also witnessed him touching and stroking the legs and buttocks of Marion Brown, Grubbs’ cousin, and other female employees of the congressman on “multiple occasions.”

“When Rep. Conyers would inappropriately touched me like this, my eyes would pop out and I would be stunned in disbelief,” Grubbs wrote in an affidavit posted on Twitter by Brown’s attorney, Lisa Bloom.

Rep. Conyers: ‘I am retiring today’

Conyers, the longest-serving member of the U.S. House, has repeatedly denied claims he mistreated staffers.

Calls for his resignation reached the highest levels of House leadership last week, as Brown and another accuser went public detailing his alleged misconduct.

Supporters held a rally in Detroit on Monday to call for Conyers to receive “due process” and for critics to stop pressuring him to step down.

Bloom said Grubbs’ affidavit is the first of several she will release describing allegations that Conyers sexually harassed employees and “covered up complaints.”

“My client Marion Brown asks only for an acknowledgment and apology,” Bloom said on Twitter.

Grubbs described a time that Conyers slid his hand up her skirt while she was sitting next to him in the front row of a church.

She said she was startled and jumped to her feet, exclaiming, “He just ran his hand up my thigh!” — an incident she said was witnessed by other staffers.

On another occasion, she was at Conyers’ home when he emerged from the bathroom naked, she said. Grubbs ran out of the house.

Grubbs said Conyers referred to her and Brown as “Big Girl Cousins” and would often say, “Those are some big girls.”

“Witnessing Rep. Conyers rub women’s thighs and buttocks and make comments about women’s physical attributes was a regular part of life while working in the office of Rep. Conyers,” Grubbs wrote.

Conyers’ lawyer, Arnold Reed, dismissed the new allegations late Monday.

“With regard to the latest #affidavit just released, this is nothing more than tomfoolery coming from the mouth of Harvey Weinstein’s lawyer and unworthy of further comment,” Reed tweeted.

Bloom had represented Weinstein, the Hollywood producer, against several claims of sexual harassment.

Brown broke a confidentiality agreement to go on NBC’s “Today Show” on Thursday, describing what led her to file a 2014 complaint against her boss, alleging she was fired for refusing his sexual advances.

Conyers settled Brown’s complaint for $27,000 using his taxpayer-funded office budget. Brown has offered to testify before the House Ethics Committee, which is investigating Conyers.

The Detroit News first reported last week that former staffer Deanna Maher said Conyers sexually harassed her, including inappropriately touching her, in three incidents spanning 1997 to 1999. And another former staffer filed a lawsuit in federal court this year alleging sexual harassment by Conyers but later withdrew the complaint to protect the congressman’s reputation.

Grubbs indicated in her affidavit that she’s also willing to testify under oath.

Grubbs attended a fundraiser with Conyers and Brown in 2005 at a Chicago hotel, where she overheard Conyers ask Brown to come to his hotel room because he needed her help with something, she said.

Grubbs said she later picked up her cousin, Brown, at the hotel and that she was “physically shaken and upset,” with red eyes.

“Ms. Brown then proceeded to tell me and my mother that, ‘That SOB just wanted me to have sex with him!” Grubb recalled.

Brown had said on NBC last week that Conyers had invited her to a hotel room in Chicago under the guise of discussing business but was in his underwear when she arrived.

“He asked me to satisfy him sexually,” Brown said. “He pointed to areas of, genital areas of his body, and asked me to, you know, touch it.”

Grubbs said Conyers regularly undressed in front of female employees and, at times, would call staffers in only to emerge from his private bathroom in his underwear.

Grubbs said she complained to Conyers’ chief of staff and to the staff director of the House Judiciary Committee on which Conyers serves.

“Despite my complaints, no action was taken and Rep. Conyers’ inappropriate conduct continued,” Grubbs wrote.

Supreme Court Allows Full Enforcement of Trump Travel Ban

Supreme Court allows full enforcement of Trump travel ban

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court on Monday allowed the Trump administration to fully enforce a ban on travel to the United States by residents of six mostly Muslim countries.

This is not a final ruling on the travel ban: Challenges to the policy are winding through the federal courts, and the justices themselves ultimately are expected to rule on its legality.

But the action indicates that the high court might eventually approve the latest version of the ban, announced by President Donald Trump in September. Lower courts have continued to find problems with the policy.

White House spokesman Hogan Gidley said the White House is “not surprised by today’s Supreme Court decision permitting immediate enforcement of the President’s proclamation limiting travel from countries presenting heightened risks of terrorism.”

Opponents of this and previous versions of the ban say they show a bias against Muslims. They say that was reinforced most recently by Trump’s retweets of anti-Muslim videos.

“President Trump’s anti-Muslim prejudice is no secret. He has repeatedly confirmed it, including just last week on Twitter. It’s unfortunate that the full ban can move forward for now, but this order does not address the merits of our claims,” said Omar Jadwat, director of the American Civil Liberties Union’s Immigrants’ Rights Project. The ACLU is representing some opponents of the ban.

Just two justices, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sonia Sotomayor, noted their disagreement with court orders allowing the latest policy to take full effect.

The new policy is not expected to cause the chaos that ensued at airports when Trump rolled out his first ban without warning in January.

The ban applies to travelers from Chad, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria and Yemen. Lower courts had said people from those nations with a claim of a “bona fide” relationship with someone in the United States could not be kept out of the country. Grandparents, cousins and other relatives were among those courts said could not be excluded.

The courts were borrowing language the Supreme Court itself came up with last summer to allow partial enforcement of an earlier version of the ban.

Now, those relationships will no longer provide a blanket exemption from the ban, although visa officials can make exceptions on a case-by-case basis.

The justices offered no explanation for their order, but the administration had said that blocking the full ban was causing “irreparable harm” because the policy is based on legitimate national security and foreign policy concerns.

In lawsuits filed in Hawaii and Maryland, federal courts said the updated travel ban violated federal immigration law. The travel policy also applies to travelers from North Korea and to some Venezuelan government officials and their families, but the lawsuits did not challenge those restrictions. Also unaffected are refugees. A temporary ban on refugees expired in October.

All the rulings so far have been on a preliminary basis. The San Francisco-based 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Virginia, will be holding arguments on the legality of the ban this week.

David Levine, a University of California Hastings law school professor, said that by allowing the ban to take effect just days before the appeals court arguments, the justices were signaling their view.

“I think it’s tipping the hand of the Supreme Court,” Levine said. “It suggests that from their understanding, the government is more likely to prevail on the merits than we might have thought.”

Both appeals courts are dealing with the issue on an accelerated basis, and the Supreme Court noted it expects those courts to reach decisions “with appropriate dispatch.”

Quick resolution by appellate courts would allow the Supreme Court to hear and decide the issue this term, by the end of June.
