Mother Crashed Into Pole To Prove To Her Kids God Is Real, Police Say

CBS Local — A Georgia woman crashed her SUV into a telephone pole in an attempt to convince her children that god was real and would protect them.

Police in Norcross say that Bahari Shaquille Warren veered into oncoming traffic with her two children in the backseat and eventually hit a pole on the side of the road. Warren’s children, ages five and seven, claim their mother intentionally wrecked the car to prove her point.

“Her eyes (were) closed and she was saying, ‘blah, blah, blah, I love God,’” one of the woman’s daughters said, via the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “She wanted us to know that God is real.”

Local police also said the 25-year-old admitted to crashing on purpose after telling her kids to buckle their seat belts. The mother of two is now being held in the Gwinnett County jail and her children are living with their grandparents.

Neither of the children were injured in the crash however, Warren has been charged with two counts child cruelty for the March 21 incident.

Evergreen professor who made anti-white comments resigns, gets $240G settlement

An Evergreen State College professor who was captured on video harassing her white co-workers resigned after reaching a financial settlement with the college.

Naima Lowe, a self-described black queer artist and educator who taught video and performance art at Evergreen State, received $240,000 from the college after she filed a discrimination and hostile work environment claim, according to college spokesperson Zach Powers.

Lowe has been on personal leave since the beginning of the school year after she claimed she was the victim of “online attacks on her,” according to a letter sent to colleagues. She officially resigned Dec. 6.

Lowe came under fire after she was caught on video berating her white co-workers.

“You are now these motherf***ers that we’re pushing against,” Lowe told her co-workers on the school’s Equity Council in a viral video earlier this year. “You can’t see your way out of your own *ss…This sh** is literally going to kill me.”

In a 2015 video that recently surfaced, Lowe is again heard making racist comments toward white people, the Campus Reform reported.

“White supremacy…lives and breathes within every single white person standing here right now,” Lowe said. “I refuse to shut my mouth and let white people set this agenda…the white gays, the white middle class assimilationist motherf***ing gays, took over the [gay] movement with their assimilationist goals.”

There has been at least five high-profile Evergreen employees who have resigned since last spring following a series of protest at the college relating to accusations of racism and intolerance, according to The Olympian, a local website. Rashida Love, director of the college’s First People’s Multicultural Advising Services program, also resigned last month due to online threats.

Racial tension at the Washington state college was heightened when a professor, Bret Weinstein, who has since resigned, was targeted by a mob of students after he took issue with a demand for a “day of absence” where all white people were asked to leave the campus for a day. The student mob shut down the campus for several days and accused Weinstein of being a racist. At the time, Weinstein had to be escorted out of the campus for fear of his life.

Weinstein and his wife, Heather Heying, a fellow Evergreen professor, filed a $3.85 million tort claim in July claiming Evergreen failed to “protect its employees from repeated provocative and corrosive verbal and written hostility based on race, as well as threats of physical violence.” They resigned in September as part of a $450,000 settlement with the college.

Stacy Brown, the chief of Police Services at the college, resigned after she was also targeted by protesters who alleged institutional racism.

Lowe did not respond to request for comment.

Burger King Manager Goes Full Goon Because Customer Took Too Long To Order

Burger King manager filmed screaming at customer for taking too long to order

 

A hungry Burger King customer in Ohio got an earful of expletives last Wednesday after the restaurant’s manager cussed her out for taking too long to order.

Lizzie Ramsey, of Newark, Ohio, said that she and her husband Cody — along with his co-worker and his 11- and 12-year-old brothers — had pulled up to the drive-thru of a nearby Burger King at around 8 a.m. to place their breakfast order. But every time Ramsey had finished ordering for one of the people in the car, the manager interrupted with the total price, and later told her to “hurry up,” despite Ramsey’s car being the only one in the drive-thru lane, WSYX reported.

Ramsey, who is 25-weeks pregnant, proceeded to park the car and enter the restaurant in order to complain. “We wanted to let the manager know how the lady on the microphone was acting,” she said.

Upon entering, however, Ramsey’s and her family were shocked to discover the manager and the drive-thru operator were the same person — and she was not happy to see them.

 

In footage Ramsey recorded of the incident, the Burger King employee — presumably the manager — can be seen screaming that Ramsey “should’ve ordered faster” and that she should’ve “came in here and looked” at the menu instead of studying the menu at the drive-thru.

Ramsey also threatens to call the corporate office while the Burger King manager repeatedly tells her to “Get the f— out” of the restaurant.

Ramsey later uploaded the footage to Facebook, where it has been viewed more than 330,000 times. Some of the locals who commented claimed that they, too, had experienced the exact same thing at the exact same Burger King, according to Ramsey’s husband.

“When we uploaded the video, people saw it and said ‘we had the same experience with the same person at the same store,'” Cody told WSYX.

Ramsey said the corporate office has since apologized and sent along a gift card, WSYX reported. A representative for the Ocedon Restaurant Group, which manages the Burger King, told Ramsey that the situation had been “handled,” though it’s unclear if the offending employee had been terminated, the Newark Advocate added.

“I believe she should be fired,” Ramsey told WSYX. “You don’t treat customers like that.”

Hidden camera tells true story of how veteran died after calling for help while nurses laugh

An 11Alive investigation uncovered hidden camera video catching nursing home staff laughing while an elderly patient dies in front of them. The incident happened at the Northeast Atlanta Health and Rehabilitation in 2014, but the video was recently released as part of a lawsuit filed by the family.

Attorneys representing the Atlanta nursing home tried to prevent 11Alive from obtaining the video. They asked a DeKalb County judge to keep the video sealed and then attempted to appeal to the Georgia State Supreme Court. The judge ruled in favor of 11Alive and the nursing home eventually dropped its appeal to the state’s highest court.

The video includes almost six hours of video court deposition from a nursing supervisor explaining how she responded to the patient before she knew the hidden camera video existed. The video shows a completely different response.

The deceased patient is 89-year-old James Dempsey, a decorated World War II veteran from Woodstock, Georgia.

A Louisiana woman yesterday surrendered to police after video of her brazen theft of booze from a Shreveport liquor store was released by a local crime stoppers group.

Sekonie Jones, 37, was booked on a misdemeanor theft charge and subsequently bonded out of jail.

Jones last week swiped numerous bottles of alcohol from the Thrifty Discount Liquor & Wines store. It appears that security personnel were familiar with Jones since cameras began following her upon her entrance into the business.

Jones–wearing a t-shirt with the words “Too Glam To Care”–stuffed bottles in her bag, bra, and underwear. Jones appears to have been aided by a younger woman.

When video of her antics was distributed, agents with the Shreveport City Marshals Office and Louisiana State Probation and Parole Office identified Jones as the culprit. The investigators were familiar with Jones since her lengthy rap sheet includes convictions for disturbing the peace; criminal damage; driving without a license; drinking in public; and five separate theft cases.

In a Facebook post Wednesday, Jones declared that, “I hustle that’s what I do ain’t nobody gone give me SHIT.” She added, “please mind ur business and stay out mines please I’m going to turn myself in and bond out like I have before.”

In posts this morning, Jones wrote, “it s true what I did and it is what it is never did I think it would be this big” and “Lord i wake up i got 125 friend request, 2different news reporters want an interview with me ppl was willing to bond me out,lord I never would have thought this would end up like this.”

Fat Ass Woman Kills 9-Year-Old By Sitting On Her

PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) — A 325-pound (150-kilogram) Florida woman is charged with killing her 9-year-old cousin by sitting on the child as punishment.

Veronica Green Posey, 64, was arrested and charged with homicide and cruelty toward a child, The Pensacola News Journal reported. The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office report identified Posey as the girl’s cousin.

Paramedics and deputies responded to the family’s Pensacola home following a 911 call Saturday. Posey told deputies she sat on Dericka Lindsay as discipline “for being out of control.”

During the punishment, Dericka told Posey and two other adult relatives, who are identified in the report as the girl’s parents, that she couldn’t breathe. When Posey got up, Dericka wasn’t breathing. Authorities said Posey called 911 and started CPR on the child.

The arrest report said Grace Joan Smith, 69, and James Edmund Smith, are charged with child neglect.

Grace Smith called Posey, who is her niece, to her house to help with disciplining the girl, according to the report. She told investigators that Posey hit the girl with a ruler and metal pipe before the child ran to an armchair.

James Smith told investigators that Posey sat on the girl for about 10 minutes before she complained she couldn’t breathe. She stayed on the chair for an additional two minutes before getting up, he said.

Mike Carroll, secretary of the Florida Department of Children and Families, issued a statement that called the child’s death “appalling.” He said the agency will work with the sheriff’s office to hold those responsible for her death accountable.

“As the family has a prior interaction with the child welfare system, a thorough quality assurance review will be conducted to review all prior interactions this family has had with the child welfare system,” the statement said.

Posey was released Monday on $125,000 bail. The Smiths remained in jail, with Grace Smith’s bond set at $75,000 and James Smith’s bond at $50,000. Escambia County jail records didn’t list an attorney for Posey or the Smiths.
