Trump Donates $100k Paycheck To Fight Opioids

Patriot. Trump puts his money where his mouth is.

The White House on Thursday said President Trump is donating his quarterly paycheck to the Health and Human Services Department to help combat an opioids crisis that is killing tens of thousands of Americans each year.

Mr. Trump, a billionaire, is donating his full presidential salary to various causes and agencies. Previous checks went to the National Parks Services and the Education Department.

Acting HHS Secretary Eric D. Hargan said Mr. Trump’s latest donation of $100,000 is a “tribute to his compassion, his patriotism and a sense of duty to the American people.”

“But it’s his compassion, above all, that drives his interest in the issue to which HHS is going to devote his donation — America’s devastating opioid crisis,” Mr. Hargan said.

More than 60,000 people died from drug overdoses last year, according to government estimates, driven in large part by the influx of synthetic opioids like fentanyl from clandestine labs overseas. The toll makes drug overdoses the leading cause of injury death in the U.S., killing more people than car crashes and gun homicides combined and afflicting the old and young, rich and poor.

Mr. Trump recently declared a public health emergency around the crisis, though he left it to Congress to free up new funding for the fight, disappointing Democrats and other critics.

Sex Dolls Discovered in IS Tunnels

ERBIL — Carrying out an operation to clear the desert triangle in western Iraq from the remaining Islamic State (IS) elements, the security forces found sex dolls in the tunnels used by the extremist Islamist group.

The security forces have also discovered drugs and alcohol at the site previously used by the jihadists, a military source told Kurdistan 24 on Monday.

However, it is not a unique case of discovering addictive drugs in the areas once held by IS. During the operation to liberate Mosul, the Iraqi forces reported that they discovered a large amount of alcohol at the IS positions.

Iraq’s War Media Cell has not provided details about the discovery.

Facebook has created a guide to improving the safety of Muslims online, in an effort to combat Islamaphonia, racism and hate speech levelled at the community.

Keeping Muslims Safe Online: Tackling Hate and Bigotry was written in partnership with non-theological consultancy Faith Associates, and is designed to “empower Muslim users of Facebook”, Simon Milner, Head of Policy UK at Facebook said.

The guide contains advice on reporting abusive comments and content to Facebook and the police, restricting the audience for what is shared on the social network and how to support somebody who is being attacked for being a Muslim […]

“If you see someone sharing Daesh inspired content and encouraging others to join extremist groups, report them and then make or share posts that show true Islamic messages of peace, mercy and tolerance,” it advises.

WTF? Flat-Earth ‘Movement’ is Growing

Morons. Absolutely the dumbest. generation. ever.

A California man’s stunt designed to prove the Earth is flat is the latest example of a conspiracy-fueled trend that’s been gaining traction in the United States, the Economist reported.

Flat-Earther “Mad” Mike Hughes hopes to launch himself 1,800 feet in the air in his homemade steam-powered rocket made of scrap metal; his latest launch date is Monday, the Associated Press reported.

Though the assertion flies in the face of photographs from space and centuries of scientific evidence, it has its skeptics adherents and the movement appears to be growing, the Economist noted.

Data from Google Trends shows that in the past two years, searches for “flat earth” have more than tripled. “If schools were better at teaching analytical thinking, that might reduce the appeal of conspiracy theories,” the Economist wrote.

In the meantime, ignoring the flat-Earthers appears to be the default position of NASA, at least.

After Bobby Ray Simmons Jr., a rapper also known as B.o.B, launched a crowd-funding campaign to send satellites into orbit to determine the Earth’s shape, a NASA spokeswoman told the Washington Post: “we don’t think there’s a debate to be had.”

Disney Debuts ‘First Boy Princess’ in ‘Star vs. the Forces of Evil’

I’m sorry, but what the heck has happened to cartoons? Not only are they hideously ugly to look at and filled with vulgar humor, but they all seem to be spewing some sort of leftist ideology. I mean, seriously, what’s wrong with slipping on banana peels and having anvils fall on your head? Is that not funny anymore? Why does everything have to have a sanctimonious message?

Take Star vs. The Forces of Evil, which airs on Disney XD, for example. The latest episode of this show is being lauded all over the internet for depicting Disney’s “first boy princess.”

HuffPost says it’s “a beautiful moment” that “could be incredibly influential for kids who are soaking up social cues about what it means to be a boy or a girl.” But really, as with so many of these misguided, preachy “feminist” statements, the whole thing doesn’t make sense even on its own terms. It’s just a mash-up of generic “feminist” phrases and ideas that make no internal sense whatsoever.

Now, I have no idea what this show is actually about. I found it hard to even watch the clip in order to write this article. There’s a chainsaw-wielding torso with one severed arm and no legs, a disembodied unicorn head, and a variety of animal-headed, gruff-voiced “princesses.” It’s truly disturbing. But, according to IMDb, the show is about “intergalactic warrior” Star Butterfly who battles villains throughout the universe. Whatever. Who cares?

In the episode, Marco Diaz (Star’s friend) dresses up as a princess in order to save a bunch of (really weird) princesses from an evil headmistress named Ms. Heinous. But, when he’s outed as a boy, the other princesses love him so much that they suddenly decide that boys can be princesses too.

The logic of the episode seems to be that “princess” is a set of attributes rather than an entity which is specifically feminine. As such, a boy could be a princess just as much as a girl could. But, as far as I can tell, the episode doesn’t actually express what those attributes are. It certainly doesn’t outline any “traditionally female” behaviors or inclinations that Marco still possesses even though it turns out he’s actually a boy. In fact, it’s his male clothing and even the crude revelation that he has chest hair, that reveal him as a boy.

Is Marco a princess because he has a secret desire to play with girl toys, or wear dresses, or express his emotions, or be taken care of by someone stronger than himself? Nothing in the episode suggests this. So, he’s not a feminine male who needs to be accepted for who he is. Are the other princesses more “traditionally male” and therefore we should rethink the girly-ness of princesses? Nothing in the episode suggests this either. He’s just a boy who dressed up as a girl to in order to forward the plot.

The thing is, male cartoon characters dress up as girls all the time. Bugs Bunny constantly dressed in drag — usually to outsmart whoever was trying to kill him. It was a gag that worked on a bunch of levels. It was funny to see Bugs dressed in women’s clothing (a boy dressed up as a girl makes us laugh because it’s absurd), it was funny to watch the bad guy falling all over himself because Bugs was so pretty, and it was funny to see Bugs hit the bad guy over the head when he leaned in for a kiss.

BREAKING: Michael Flynn Charged With Making False Statements To The FBI

Former national security adviser Michael Flynn has been charged with making false statements to the FBI, the Office of Special Counsel Robert Mueller revealed in court documents filed on Friday.

Flynn, a retired lieutenant general, is expected to plead guilty to the charges at a plea hearing scheduled in Alexandria, Va. on Friday morning.

According to the charging document against Flynn, he lied to FBI agents during a Jan. 24 meeting in which he was asked about his conversations with then-Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.

Prosecutors say that Flynn lied when he said that during a Dec. 29, 2016 conversation with Kislyak, he did not ask the Russian diplomat “to refrain from escalating the situation in response to sanctions that the United States had imposed against Russia that same day.”

He also falsely claimed that he did not recall that Kislyak told him that Russia “had chosen to moderate its response to those sanctions as a result of his request.”

Flynn also misrepresented a conversation he had with Kislyak on Dec. 22, 2016. Flynn initially claimed that he did not ask Kislyak to delay a vote on a United Nations Security Council resolution.

Flynn was fired by President Trump on Feb. 13, purportedly because he made false statements to Vice President Mike Pence about his interactions with Kislyak.
