Pope Francis denounced “fake news” as evil, comparing it to the snake that tempted Eve in the Garden of Eden.
In his annual social communications message, Francis dedicated his missive this year to “fake news and journalism for peace,” saying misinformation dates back to the Biblical beginning of time.
“The strategy of this skilled ‘Father of Lies’ is precisely mimicry, that sly and dangerous form of seduction that worms its way into the heart with false and alluring arguments,” he said, adding “fake news” played on stereotypes and prejudices. “This biblical episode brings to light an essential element for our reflection: There is no such thing as harmless disinformation; on the contrary, trusting in falsehood can have dire consequences.”
Francis then called on journalists to be “protectors of the news” and to rediscover the dignity of their profession. He said it was their responsibility to communicate the truth.
“The tragedy of misinformation is that it discredits others, presenting them as enemies, to the point of demonizing them and fomenting conflict,” Francis said.
A journalism of peace, Francis said, is one that is truthful, and devoid of “rhetorical slogans and sensational headlines.”
Yes He Worships the Devil.
“A journalism created by people for people, one that is at the service of all, especially those – and they are the majority in our world – who have no voice,” he said. “A journalism less concentrated on breaking news than on exploring the underlying causes of conflict, in order to promote deeper understanding and contribute to their resolution by setting in place virtuous process. A journalism committed to pointing out alternatives to the escalation of shouting matches and verbal violence.”
The Pontiff’s message comes after he faced unprecedented bad press during his South American tour. It also comes a week after President Trump announced his “Fake News Awards” winners.
The message made no reference to how some public figures often label unflattering or critical reports “fake news” to try to discredit the information.
Francis has frequently railed about journalists, and before he became pope was known for his frosty relations with the Argentine media. Just this week, while chatting with reporters aboard the papal plane, he admitted he hated giving interviews and joked: “And look at the job God gave me now.”
Why don’t he interview Peter Strzok, Obama, or Hillary?
Special Counsel Robert Mueller is seeking an interview with President Donald Trump about his decisions to dismiss FBI Director James Comey and National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.
The Washington Post reports that Trump’s team has crafted negotiating terms for his interview with Mueller’s investigative team that could be presented to Mueller as soon as next week, according to two sources familiar with the special counsel’s plans.
According to the report, Mueller’s interest in those firings indicates his Russia probe is focusing on possible efforts by Trump to obstruct the investigation:
The president’s legal team hopes to provide Trump’s testimony in a hybrid form — answering some questions in a face-to-face interview and others in a written statement.
Those discussions come amid signs of stepped-up activity by the special counsel. Last week, Attorney General Jeff Sessions was interviewed for several hours by Mueller’s investigators, according to Justice Department officials.
A spokesman for the special counsel’s office, Peter Carr, declined to comment. A White House spokesman referred questions to the president’s legal team. Two attorneys for Trump, Jay Sekulow and John Dowd, declined to comment
Within the past two weeks, the special counsel’s office has indicated to the White House that the two central subjects that investigators wish to discuss with the president are the departures of Flynn and Comey and the events surrounding their firings.
Trump has been unclear on whether he would meet with Mueller, saying Jan. 10, “we’ll see what happens.” He has repeatedly said there was “no collusion” between his campaign and the Kremlin, and he has reportedly told his lawyers he has no worries about being interviewed since he has nothing to hide.
Trump fired Comey in May of 2017, and Comey has testified about previous conversations with Trump where he said the president asked him about laying off investigating Flynn.
Mueller interviewed Comey last year, the New York Times reported, and Comey was asked about the memos he kept about conversations with Trump while he was FBI director.
Trump fired Flynn in February after revelations that he misled Vice President Mike Pence and other administration officials about discussions with Sergey Kislyak, the Russian ambassador to the U.S.
Flynn pleaded guilty in December to making false statements to the FBI about his communications with Kislyak. Trump then tweeted he fired Flynn “because he lied to the Vice President and the FBI,” even though the White House had before only cited his lying to Pence as the reason for his ouster.
Mueller is also supposed to be interested in Trump’s prior pressuring of Sessions to quit. Trump reportedly berated Sessions and demanded that he resign for recusing himself from the Russia investigation and the resulting appointment of Mueller.
It was reported that Sessions offered his resignation, but White House advisers convinced Trump that Sessions’ departure would only add to the administration’s troubles.
This is what so damn funny and sad at the same time. This is the same man who was over all of the damn corruption while at the FBI.
Former FBI Director James Comey has landed a teaching gig at his alma mater, the College of William & Mary, and will join the ranks of the school’s teaching faculty this fall with a course on ethical leadership.
The Washington Post reports that Comey has accepted a nontenured position as an executive professor in education with the school, and will teach the course on ethical leadership in fall 2018, spring 2019 and summer 2019 semesters.
In a statement, the former FBI director said he was “thrilled” to have the chance to teach students.
“I am thrilled to have the chance to engage with William & Mary students about a vital topic — ethical leadership,” Comey said in a statement.
He has impeccable standards right?
“Ethical leaders lead by seeing above the short term, above the urgent or the partisan, and with a higher loyalty to lasting values, most importantly the truth. Building and maintaining that kind of leadership, in both the private sector and government, is the challenge of our time.”
Comey led a lecture series at Howard University in the fall, as well as delivering the school’s convocation address in September.
The former FBI chief received a chilly reception at the historically black institution in the fall when student protesters interrupted his speech with demonstrations against law enforcement and the FBI.
President Trump fired Comey last May, a decision that triggered the appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller to take over the federal investigation into Russia’s election meddling and its possible collusion with the Trump campaign. Comey has remained in the public spotlight following his June testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee about his ouster.
“The administration chose to defame me and, more importantly, the FBI by saying that the organization was in disarray, that it was poorly run,” Comey said at the time. “Those were lies, plain and simple.”
Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” host Chuck Todd questioned Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) about his claim President Donald Trump did not call some counties “shitholes.”
Thus, Todd accused Cotton of calling Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) “liars.”
Partial transcript as follows:
TODD: I’ve got to ask you about the infamous meeting of ten days ago. Did the president use a vulgarity?
COTTON: Chuck, I’m not going to get into every word that was or was not said. I will say, as many people have said, Kirstjen Nielsen under oath, a lot of strong language was used. I think it is fair to say there was cursing behind closed doors.
TODD: What I don’t understand is in the first 48 hours if there was a controversy about whether it was said, you implied it wasn’t said at all. you didn’t — and it made it seem as if you were accusing Dick Durbin of being a liar and Lindsey Graham of being a liar.
COTTON: As far as I know Lindsey Graham hasn’t spoken on the record about this, Chuck. Here’s the point that Senator Durbin represented that President Trump used repeatedly, repeatedly used vile, racist, lays if the language. That’s not the case. If he was, why didn’t he slam anything and slam his paper up and get up and walk out. What Trump and others in that meeting expressed was astonishment that Senator Durbin and Senator Graham would bring a proposal that won’t move us towards a skill-based system but towards a system where we’re rewarding people based on where they come from, not who they are. the point of immigration reform is to judge people as individuals based on who they are and what they can contribute to society, not who they are and who they are related to.
TODD: But to go back to the issue of trust on both sides, You let it sort of hang out there that Dick Durbin and Lindsey Graham were misleading the public completely and only now are you admitting, well, yeah, there was some vulgarity used. That isn’t what you said a week ago or ten days ago at the time. Why?
COTTON: Chuck, I’ve never denied that there wasn’t strong language used in the meeting by lots of people. You know, I’m not a shrinking violet about these things. I’ve been in a command post overseas and I’ve heard salty language before. What I’m saying it’s a gross mess representation.
TODD: Were you offended? Lindsey Graham appears to be offended. He said his piece. Were you offended by what the president said.
COTTON: I was not offended and nobody in the meeting expressed their offense.
TODD: Lindsey Graham didn’t make his peace?
COTTON: Lindsey Graham made a case about immigration policies, not about what the president was saying.
TODD: He said he said his peace about what American ideals are about.
COTTON: Yes, he did and that’s part of immigration policy because immigration policy is a part of who we are, who we’re going to bring to this country to become new American citizens.
Dumb ass “Dick” Durbin says he is working full time for the DACA recipients. Liberals and the vile left seem to have forgotten who they are suppose to be working for. Look at Dick Durbin’s state which is Illinois and it is not doing so damn well right now. Look at the damn violence in Illinois and tell me should “Tricky Dick” Durbin be working harder for Illegal Immigrants or Americans in his own state?
(1) “The violent crime rate for that northwest Illinois town of 150,000 stands at 1,374 per 100,000 residents. Violent crime includes murders, rapes, robberies and property crimes, like burglary and car theft.
There were 19 reported murders in Rockford, ranking No. 1 outside of Chicago (414 murders). Peoria reported 16 murders.
South suburban Harvey, with a population of only about 25,500, had an alarmingly high 10 murders.
For suburban Chicago, Aurora is ranked No. 1 with a crime rate of about 300 per 100,000 residents.
The study compiled FBI violent crime statistics to determine the rankings.
According to the FBI report, Chicago is not included because the FBI believes crime in the city is under-reported and specifically doesn’t properly classify the number of rapes. Not surprisingly, even without those numbers, the city has the highest crime rate in the state, considering its size and population density.
Without including rapes and aggravated assaults, there were about 12,229 violent crimes and 95,908 property crimes in Chicago in 2013 — a total of 108,137 crimes. There were 414 murders, and more than 11,000 robberies. The property offenses include crimes like burglary and arson.
Not including Chicago, here are the 10 Illinois cities with the most violent crime:
I hate to sound like a damn broke record but it does bare repeating. We have Sen. Dick Durbin, Sen Tammy Duckworth, former President Barack Obama, former first lady Michelle Obama, Fake preacher Jesse Jackson, Oprah Winfrey was there for a while, and Louis Louis Farrakhan. Then if you look at the Representatives there are 13 democrats and 5 republicans, plus we did not even start on the Mayors and Teachers Unions. To add insult to injury many believe they were on the verge of filing bankruptcy.
So my question to all of the race baiting mentally challenged liberals who have been elected to represent people in their respected districts. Why are you not working for the American People this damn hard? See some people would like to think you can negotiate with these demon filled liberals who say it is their job to protect the folks who broke the law. But these are the same morons that will have an aneurysm if you talk about tax-cuts on your money.
These are the same do-gooders who think that if a man decides to call himself a woman then, abracadabra Bruce Jenner you are a man. If I think I’m a lion does that make me one? If I say I’m a bird and I jump off a building will I be able to fly? We must stop thinking that liberals who are technically socialist, and communist, will be rational. Dick Durbin, Democrats and many liberals republicans like “The Cat Man” Lindsey “Queer” Graham will never do what is best for America. Why in the hell are we 20 trillion dollars in debt? Could some one please tell me how in is it great for America that we keep bringing people from “ShitHole” Countries to America? Stop with the bullshit that we where built on immigration. Yes we were built on immigration, but that means “LEGAL IMMIGRATION” IDIOTS.

Hell No It Is Not Our Job To Bring People From Every Damn Shithole Country Out There.
An illegal alien accused of murdering two California police officers told the courtroom during his trial Tuesday that he “wished” he had killed more officers.
“I wish I had killed more of the motherf*ckers,” the illegal alien said, according to the video.
“I will break out soon, and I will kill more, kill whoever gets in front of me. … There’s no need for a f*cking trial,” the illegal alien said as he flashed a grin.
Luis Bracamontes, 37, of Mexico allegedly shot and killed Sacramento-area sheriff’s deputies in 2014 and admitted to the crime in several court appearances.
He is also accused of shooting a driver in the head to steal his vehicle and wounding another deputy.
Judge Steve White told the jury to leave the courtroom as it became clear that Bracamontes planned to continue his expletive-laced tirade.
“I don’t f***ing regret that s***. Only thing that I f***ing regret is that I f***ing just killed two. I wish I killed more of those motherf***ers. … I will break out soon, and I will kill more–whoever f***ing get in front of me, just like that. There’s no need for a f***ing trial,” Bracamontes said.
Judge White warned Bracamontes that he would remove him from the courtroom if he continued his tirade. Then, he invited the jury back inside the court.
Bracamontes is facing the death penalty and life in prison for his role in the alleged killings, although his defense is trying to convince jurors that he should receive a lighter sentence.
In February 2017, Breitbart News reported that President Trump invited Jessica Davis and Susan Oliver, the widows of the two slain officers, to his joint address before Congress.
