“I’ll go to fucking jail over some barbecue sauce!”
That is what Willie Edward Drake, 43, yelled during a tirade last week inside a Waffle House in Georgia after being informed by a employee that the restaurant did not offer his favorite tangy condiment.
According to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office report, Drake sat down at the Macon eatery’s counter early Tuesday morning and ordered food. Drake subsequently asked for some barbecue sauce.
The Waffle House, however, does not stock barbecue sauce, a revelation that allegedly caused Drake to begin “screaming obscenities and insulting” workers. Drake’s unhinged behavior “caused the employees and customers to fear for their safety,” cops reported.
Officers responding to a 911 call about a disturbance at the Waffle House (seen below) described Drake as “uncooperative and disorderly.” Pictured above, Drake was subsequently arrested for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor.
Drake, who gave his address as a hotel near Waffle House, spent several days in the county jail before his release on $390 bond. He is scheduled for a March 1 appearance in Municipal Court.
CNN commentator Sally Kohn said Wednesday that chanting “USA” is a “fear mongering” tactic that lately sends chills down her spine.
In a tweet, Kohn said that although she is a patriot, the chant, often started by spectators at sports events and political rallies, crosses a line.
“I am a patriot and I love my country but the way people have been chanting ‘USA’ lately, especially in response to nationalist hate mongering, sends chills down my spine,” Kohn tweeted.

Kohn has written a book, to be released in April 2018, which is touted as a “field guide to repairing our humanity.”
At Tuesday night’s State of the Union address, the crowd began chanting “USA” after President Donald Trump honored those who lost their lives while serving in the U.S. armed services.

During the chant, Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D., Ill.), a vocal Trump critic, removed himself from the House chamber. According to his spokesman, he was not protesting the “USA” chant, but left early to make it on time to an interview.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel reduced a secret gathering of journalists to “uproarious” laughter as she recounted the British prime minister’s clueless approach to Brexit negotiations during the Davos meetings last week, in claimed remarks that come shortly after President Trump also said he thought May was handling Brexit badly.
Merkel told journalists at what ITV politics editor Robert Peston described as a “secret briefing” at the globalist World Economic Forum Davos summit last week about May’s unusual approach to negotiating the Brexit deal — in which she apparently was content to allow Germany to dictate the terms of any future deal.
Peston wrote:
Merkel said that when she asks Mrs May what she wants the shape of the UK’s relationship with the EU to be, Mrs May says “make me an offer”.
To which Mrs Merkel says, “but you’re leaving – we don’t have to make you an offer. Come on what do you want?

And so, according to Mrs Merkel, the two find themselves trapped in a recurring loop of “what do you want?” and “make me an offer”.
Although the British journalist was not present at the secret meeting, he claimed to have been told by those who were there that after hearing the details from Merkel those in the room “laughed uproariously”.
Britain’s Times newspaper reports the remarks of a German government spokesman who said simply of the claims: “We do not comment on these reports.”
The claim that the German leader “poked fun” at May behind her back over her lack of grip over Brexit — perhaps the greatest political matter for a generation — comes among increasing reports of Eurosceptic Conservative MPs growing restless with the prime minister’s dithering.

President Trump has indicated he is unimpressed by Theresa May’s approach to the Brexit negotiations, saying he would have been far tougher.
Angela Merkel is not the only global figure to have poked fun at Theresa May’s Brexit negotiations in the past week. U.S. President Donald Trump said in an interview with British television recorded at the Davos summit that he would take a “tougher stand in getting out”.
Asked for his take on May’s negotiating style, the President replied: “Would it be the way I negotiate? No, I wouldn’t negotiate it the way it’s [being] negotiated … I would have had a different attitude.”
An incensed bride punched a wedding crasher in the face after the interloper disrupted her reception by pawing several teenage female guests, according to a criminal complaint.
Cops say that William Dickinson, 25, and two co-workers were drinking at the bar of a Best Western in Eau Claire, Wisconsin Friday night when they decided to crash a wedding reception being held in the hotel.
The goal was “getting laid,”Dickinson’s buddy Patrick Smith later told police.
But Dickinson–wearing jeans and a t-shirt–quickly caused an uproar when he sought to dance with two 17-year-old girls and an 18-year-old woman. Police charge that he inappropriately touched all three teenagers. Two of the victims said Dickinson rubbed and squeezed their buttocks. When a 14-year-old girl confronted him about his behavior, Dickinson allegedly yanked on the child’s hair, causing her pain.
During a scuffle that followed, Dickinson allegedly punched the bride’s father in the face, knocking the man down. Smith said that Dickinson later told him that wedding guests “were mad at him for dancing with the girls and accused him of being a pedophile.”
When questioned by police, Dickinson admitted decking the bride’s father, adding that he planned to ground and pound the man, “but then realized that he was so old so he stopped punching him.” Dickinson, police reported, said that he “liked to fight people.”
Dickinson, the complaint notes, later apologized to the bride, saying that he “hoped he didn’t ruin her party.” The woman responded by punching the wedding crasher (seen above) in the face. “Dickinson said he probably deserved it,” cops noted.
Dickinson was charged with physical abuse of a child, a felony, disorderly conduct, and two counts of fourth-degree sexual assault (the latter two charges are misdemeanors). Dickinson was freed from jail Tuesday after posting $1000 bond.
A Circuit Court judge has ordered Dickinson to have no contact with “any underage females,” including the teens he allegedly groped at the wedding reception. Additionally, he must “maintain absolute sobriety” and stay out of “any taverns, bars, or place where alcohol is primarily served/sold.”
Angered that someone ate the last of his favorite chocolate chip cookies, a Florida man allegedly punched his live-in girlfriend in the face when she “did not want to argue over

something so petty,” according to a police report.
Richard Hessic, 31, was arrested Thursday evening on a domestic battery charge following a confrontation in the Port St. Lucie home he shares with the victim, a 34-year-old nurse.
The 6’ 4” Hessic, who works as a butcher, will be arraigned December 28 on the misdemeanor count.
In an interview with cops responding to a 911 call, Hessic said that he had gotten into an argument with his girlfriend “over cookies.” An investigator noted that Hessic “was upset someone ate the last chocolate chip cookie,” and was also angry “at his girlfriend for not taking him seriously.” Believing that she was “blowing him off,” Hessic said that he ripped down the curtain as the woman was showering.
The victim told a sheriff’s deputy that Hessic was angry that “the last of his favorite cookies were eaten.” The missing cookie was of less importance to the woman, who said she joked about “reviewing the surveillance cameras to see who ate the cookie.” The victim added that she “did not want to argue over something so petty” and told Hessic that she would purchase more cookies for him.
The woman alleged that after Hessic (seen above) followed her into the bathroom and tore down the shower curtain, he “punched her on the left side of her face.”
A judge has ordered Hessic to have no contact with his girlfriend and has placed him on house arrest with GPS monitoring, court records show. A court filing notes that Hessic (whose mug shot is below) has previously been arrested for battery, fleeing and eluding, child abuse, driving with a suspended or revoked license, and violating probation.

University teaches white employees how to overcome the ‘discomfort’ of being white
University of Michigan training session used ‘Privileged Identity Exploration Model’
A two-day professional development conference held recently at the University of Michigan included a training session that aimed to help white employees deal with their “whiteness” so they could become better equipped to fight for social justice causes, according to organizers.
Participants who took part in the “Conversations on Whiteness” session, held December 5 during the university’s Student Life Professional Development Conference, were taught to “recognize the difficulties they face when talking about social justice issues related to their White identity, explore this discomfort, and devise ways to work through it,” the university’s website states.
The goal was to help participants in “unpacking Whiteness” to support students and staff with issues and efforts “related to identity and social justice,” the website added.
The “Conversations on Whiteness” session was one of more than a dozen workshops offered at the conference, held Dec. 4 and 5. The whiteness session utilized the “Privileged Identity Exploration Model” to help white participants explore the “discomfort” of their “white identity,” according to organizers.
First introduced in 2007 by University of Iowa professor Sherry Watt in a College Student Affairs Journal article, the model purports to be a method for understanding how people react to stimuli that alert them of the privilege they hold. The model is to be used by “facilitators” to “engage participants in discussions about diversity,” according to Watt.
Watt states there are eight defenses people use to avoid recognizing their privilege. Examples of defenses include “denial,” where someone simply refuses to admit their privilege, and “minimization,” where someone trivializes the impact of their privilege.
The College Fix reached out for comment to the three university staff members listed as facilitators of the event: Abby Priehs: associate director of residence education; Steve Bodei: associate director of Student Life Leadership Education; and Nick Smith: director of campus involvement.
When asked why the “unpacking Whiteness” event was created, and whether or not students at the University of Michigan had complained about the quality of racial discourse on campus, Smith responded: “This is an internal training for U-M Student Life staff.” A subsequent query to Smith was not returned.
Neither Priehs nor Bodei responded to phone calls from The Fix on Monday night.
The Student Life Professional Development Conference was based around the overall theme of “Identity, Wellness, & Work: Healthier, Happier, & More Efficient,” according to the University of Michigan’s student life website.
Additional sessions were titled “Building and Strengthening Your Assessment Muscles,” “Empower, Safety and You,” and “Making Meaning: the Role of Spirituality in Higher Education.”
Another session, titled “I Don’t Feel Safe Talking About Race,” was devoted to giving staff “tools to create a safer climate to promote dialogue around racial issues.” Meanwhile “The Intersection of Well-being, and Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion on Campus” workshop aimed to help Student Life staff “work towards wellness justice for all students on campus.”
The University of Michigan is not alone in holding trainings to help staff cope with “intersecting identities.”
American University hosted a training event earlier this year designed to help staff understand their own identities.
Among the research guides available online from the University of San Francisco, meanwhile, is a “White Privilege Resource Guide” that provides resources to help researchers deal with their various forms of privilege.
