Russia Might Send Snowden to Trump as a ‘Gift’

Russia Considering Sending Edward Snowden Back to U.S. as ‘Gift’ to Trump

Traitor or hero?

Russian officials are considering sending the famed whistleblower Edward Snowden back to America as “a gift” to President Donald Trump, according to a report from NBC News.

Snowden, a former CIA employee, was granted asylum by the Russian government in 2013. He sought to escape charges of espionage, having leaked classified information concerning U.S surveillance programs conducted by the National Security Agency (NSA.)

However, a senior U.S official told NBC News that Russian authorities are now considering turning him over to the United States, where he would face trial, in order to “curry favor” with Trump and the new administration.

In December, the Russian foreign ministry revealed they had extended Snowden’s permit until 2020.

In an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper in 2015, Trump described Snowden as a “total traitor,” adding that if he became president, “Putin would give him over. Snowden is a spy who should be executed.”

“If I’m president, Putin says, hey, boom, you’re gone,” he continued.

“A second source in the intelligence community confirms the intelligence about the Russian conversations and notes it has been gathered since the inauguration,” according to NBC.

CIA Director Mike Pompeo also warned last February that Snowden’s return could lead to his execution, arguing that the “proper outcome [of his conviction] would be that he would be given a death sentence.”

Lawyers for Edward Snowden dismissed the claims, saying that “Team Snowden has received no such signals and has no new reason for concern.”

One item that some Jewish religious leaders in the United States hope to see Putin offer is the Schneerson Collection, a library of sacred texts stolen by the Nazis and currently in the possession of the Russian government, which rabbis have tried for decades to recover.

In the final week of his presidency, Barack Obama pardoned former United States soldier Chelsea Manning, who was serving 35 years in jail for leaking classified military documents to Wikileaks.

Should Snowden be convicted on charges of espionage, he would face a minimum of 30 years in prison.

Rapist Blinded and Crippled Victim, May be Given Lighter Sentence

Bloomingdale rapist Kendrick Morris could be granted early release

Help Queena www.JoinQueena.com
Scalia, Alito and Thomas were the only holdouts on the Supreme Court.

TAMPA (FOX 13) – The man who raped, beat and left a teen girl for dead outside a public library eight years ago could be granted a reduced sentence next month, thanks to a Supreme Court decision.

In 2008, Kendrick Morris — then 16 years old — was convicted for a brutal rape that left a young woman blind and paralyzed for life.

He attacked high school student Queena Phu as she was dropping off books at the Bloomingdale Regional Public Library in Valrico. Morris dragged her behind the building, where he raped and beat Queena so violently, he robbed her of the ability to see, talk or walk on her own.

Morris was convicted and sentenced to 65 years in prison for that crime and another rape.

Nearly a decade since his crime, Morris, now 25, appeared in court Thursday to ask for a lesser sentence.

This comes after a Supreme Court ruling from last year that determined lengthy sentences for juvenile offenders are unconstitutional, and that they should have the opportunity for parole.

Thursday in court, Queena’s mother made a tearful statement, begging the judge to keep Morris locked up.

She said, “I have come to accept our situation, but I will never accept letting this person go free — ever. If my daughter cannot get a resentencing, he shouldn’t.”

Queena’s family and friends called Morris a “violent monster” who didn’t take away her life, but took away her future. They say she is serving a life sentence of her own. She can’t walk, talk or see. She has close to 20 doctors and needs a lifetime of therapy, as well as 24-hour-a-day care.

Her care costs $80,000 out of pocket each year, and the family relies largely on donations through www.JoinQueena.com, though they say donations have slowed over the years.

The defense had two psychologists testify that Morris was mentally and physically abused by his mother and stepdad for years. That abuse, they say, caused Morris to lash out and become violent.

Both doctors said that Morris is on his way to full rehabilitation, and that he can become a productive member of society and no threat to the community.

But a re-sentencing hearing could go both ways. While Morris is seeking less time in prison, the judge could very well sentence him to more — even life in prison.

The judge will decide on March 9.

Amid Protests and Majority Approval, Trump Doubles Down on Travel Ban

Trump ‘terribly confident’ he’ll win travel-ban case

Stay the fuck out

President Donald Trump said Friday he’s “terribly confident” his administration would prevail in an ongoing legal fight over his seven-nation travel ban, and hinted he is preparing to “rapidly” take more action to enhance national security within a week.

“Ultimately I have no doubt that we will win that particular case.” said Trump, appearing at a joint press conference with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. “One of the reasons I’m standing here today [is] the security of our country. The voters felt I would give it the best security.”

Meanwhile, “We’ll be doing something very rapidly having to do with additional security,” Trump continued, without specifying. “You’ll be seeing that sometime next week.”

It was his first remarks since a three-judge panel of the California-based U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals on Thursday unanimously rejected the Trump administration’s request to drop a lower-court ruling suspending the White House travel ban.

Just days after he was inaugurated, Trump signed an executive order enacting a sweeping ban on U.S. entry for refugees, immigrants and travelers from seven Muslim-majority countries. The president said the ban is necessary to protect the nation from a terrorist attack, but the states of Washington and Minnesota successfully sued to temporarily block the order.

Several other states around the country have also challenged the order in federal court.

In the brief press conference, Trump said he has “learned tremendous things” during his brief time in office, and he signed the ban “because I saw what was happening,” apparently referring to classified national security briefings.

Though he declined to specify what he plans to do next week, Trump pledged to do “whatever is necessary to keep our country safe.”

Dumbass 9th Circuit on Left Coast Would Allow 9/11 Hijackers to Sue To Enter USA

The judgment of the Ninth Circuit upholding the temporary restraining order (TRO) against President Donald Trump’s recent executive order restricting travel from seven terror-prone countries would have allowed one of the 9/11 hijackers to sue the government to come to, or stay in, the United States.

They need to be bombed, not embraced.

Under the court’s novel theory of legal standing, “injuries” to public universities that result from foreign students and teachers not being able to enter the country give the states standing to sue.

Moreover, the court held that foreigners with visas have due process rights under the Fifth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, even though the precedent it cited applied to people already in the United States. Those due process rights could also be asserted by states on behalf of people in the U.S. illegally or “who have a relationship with a U.S. resident or … institution,” the court held in its ruling.

Hani Hasan Hanjour was one of the four pilots in the September 11, 2001 attack. He flew American Airlines flight 77 into the Pentagon, killing 184 people, including everyone on the flight. He was in the U.S. on a student visa, according to the 9/11 Commission report.

He was from Saudi Arabia, a country not covered by the executive order. By the reasoning of the Ninth Circuit, however, Hanjour would have due process rights to challenge his exclusion from the United States once he had been granted a student visa. His relationship with a U.S. “institution” — in this case, an English as a Second Language school in Oakland, California — would have been enough to grant him standing. A state could have sued on his behalf even while he was still abroad.

Hanjour did not, in fact, attend the English as a Second Language school in California, but resumed flight training in Arizona that he had begun on an earlier visit, the 9/11 Commission found.

Betsy Devos, Education Secretary, Blocked from Entering DC School

Protesters Attempt to Block Education Secretary Betsy DeVos from Entering DC School

Watch video:  http://on.wsj.com/2lxCgT6

Newly sworn-in U.S. Betsy DeVos was greeted by a group of protesters blocking the front entrance to a Washington, D.C. school she was scheduled to visit Friday.

Black Lives Matter

DeVos, a supporter of charter schools, was greeted by a small group of protesters, some of them holding “Black Lives Matter” signs, another holding a sign that read, “Feminists Are the Majority,” and at least one yelling, “Shame!” when she arrived at Jefferson Middle School Academy, reports NBC News. DeVos reportedly left the front door and entered the school through the rear door instead.

ABC News’ Sam Sweeney tweeted video of the protesters clashing with police.

One protester was reportedly arrested.

NBC reports Washington Teachers’ Union president Elizabeth Davis said the protesters, “love our public school system.”

DeVos was among the most controversial of President Donald Trump’s cabinet nominees, drawing criticism from teachers’ unions, who are allied with the Democrat Party.

In a historic moment, Vice President Mike Pence broke a tie vote in the Senate to confirm DeVos’ nomination.

LMAO!! Goon Rosie O’Donnell Will Pose as Steve Bannon on SNL

Hey, ‘SNL’: Rosie O’Donnell Poses as Steve Bannon in Bid for New Gig

That’s a goon damit!

Yeah, we’re thinking Rosie O’Donnell is definitely gunning for that “Saturday Night Live” guest gig. And she might deserve it too, after updating her official Twitter profile picture Thursday night with a scary-accurate Photoshopped image of her as White House Advisor Steve Bannon.

Earlier this week, Politico reported that beleaguered White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer drew boss Donald Trump’s severe displeasure thanks to a Melissa McCarthy’s brutal, and highly celebrated portrayal of him on “SNL.”

Trump’s problem? Not that she made him look like a petulant buffoon, but that she was “she,” Politico reported.

The site said Spicer’s job is on shaky ground because Trump thinks being played by a woman made him “look weak.”

Wait, Spicer might actually get canned thanks to a gender-flipped casting decision? Maybe, maybe not, but unsurprisingly that possibility got the internet thinking: if Spicer, why not other members of Trump’s staff? Like Bannon.

Enter Rosie O’Donnell. Fans on Monday night noticed some eerie similarities between her and Bannon in several pictures, and thus was born a Twitter campaign to have her portray him on “SNL.”

To the participants’ delight, O’Donnell was down. “I am here to serve,” she said at the time. And indeed she is, judging by the image she posted tonight. See it below and marvel at the likeness.

Is Lorne Michaels paying attention? Would “SNL” try to capture lightning in a bottle twice with the same basic gag? Who knows, but in our opinion Rosie as Bannon is a much funnier take than the show’s current version, Bannon as the Grim Reaper.

If “SNL” declines, at least we’ll have this photo — and the knowledge that the O’Donnell-Trump feud can still be a lot of fun.
