Buck, a white man in his 60s, was investigated previously by authorities after the death of Gemmel Moore, who died of a methamphetamine overdose in Buck’s home in July 2017. Since Moore’s death was classified as an accidental overdose, numerous young black gay men have alleged that Buck has a fetish for shooting drugs into black men he picks up off the street or on hookup sites. Moore had written about Buck injecting him with dangerous drugs before his death.
“I’ve become addicted to drugs and the worst one at that,” Moore wrote in his journal in December 2016. “Ed Buck is the one to thank. He gave me my first injection of crystal meth.”
Buck claims he’s not responsible for Moore’s death and did not furnish him with drugs. The Los Angeles County District Attorney declined to file charges against Buck, saying there was “insufficient evidence.”
The name of the person who died in Buck’s home in the early hours of Monday has not been released. Wehoville described him as a young African-American man and featured a picture of a body being removed on a gurney.
Community activists like Jasmyne Cannick have accused Los Angeles officials of declining to prosecute Buck in 2017 thanks to his contributions to powerful politicians such as Hillary Clinton, California Gov. Jerry Brown, L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti, and numerous West Hollywood City Council members. Cannick is organizing a vigil and rally for tonight in front of Buck’s home, at 1234 Laurel Ave.
“City Council members John D’Amico and Lindsey Horvath have reached out to City Manager Paul Arevalo, asking him to request that newly elected Sheriff Alex Villanueva put priority on investigating [the young man’s] death,” Wehoville reports. “Councilmember Lauren Meister also has pressed for the homicide division to investigate.”
Buck’s attorney, Seymour Amster, characterized the death today as an accidental overdose and said Buck is cooperating with investigators. “From what I know, it was an old friend who died of an accidental overdose, and, unfortunately, we believe that the substance was ingested at some place other than the apartment,” Amster told the Los Angeles Times. “The person came over intoxicated.”
“He’s shaken up,” Amster said of Buck. “All indications are he had nothing to do with this tragedy.”
Black Lives Matter Right? Where is the Media outrage now? That’s right Chicago is Gun Free.
A Illinois county might create a special task force to protect cemeteries as gangs have taken to opening fire on each other during funerals.
Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart proposed creating a special task force Thursday to combat rival gangs trying to shoot each other during funeral services, reported FOX 32.
During a talk with various political leaders, religious members and funeral directors, Dart called for a task force made up of the three groups that would try to fix the problem.
“This has been something that has been escalating I’d say over the last ten to 15 years from where it was not much of a problem. It was very isolated. To now it occurs more frequently,” Dart said.
One funeral director has grown increasingly concerned with the level of violence at funerals and how it could affect his employees.
I’m sure they are on their way to church right? No wait they are on their way to college.
“It is dramatic for the families and very dramatic even for the funeral directors, the violence that’s going on and all the things that’s happening. Guns and knives,” Funeral director John McCall said.
Hillside Police Chief Joseph Lukaszek recalled having to chase down a car after a person in it started firing shots at a funeral in December. He eventually caught up with it and found three guns.
“We need our judicial system to enforce what laws are on the books. We need our states attorneys to prosecute the criminals and put these people behind bars,” he said.
A gunman killed five people and wounded another at a car wash in western Pennsylvania early Sunday morning, authorities said.
Suspect Tim Smith fatally shot William Porterfield, 27, Chelsie Cline, 25, Courtney Snyder, 23, and Seth Cline, 21, at Ed’s Car Wash around 3 a.m. in Melcroft, police said.
Family members of the victims told WXPI-TV the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute. They also said the suspect used to date one of the victims.
Smith, 28, was on life support at a hospital following the shooting, police said.
Four of the victims died at the scene, roughly 50 miles southeast of Pittsburgh. A fifth victim, who wasn’t identified, later died at a hospital.
A woman who hid in the back seat of a pickup truck during the shooting only suffered minor injuries, authorities said.
The suspected gunman was also shot, a state police spokesman told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Two of those slain were found inside a green pickup truck, one of three cars towed from the car wash, the Post-Gazette reported.
“There is no indication of drug activity at this point,” State Trooper Robert Broadwater told the newspaper. “But we have no motive, no reason.”
Family of the victims tell Channel 11 the shooting of their 5 loved ones at a car wash early Sunday morning in Melcroft Pa, was the result of a domestic. One person is in the hospital.
Police said Smith shot the victims with a semi-automatic rifle and handgun. The victims arrived at the scene in two separate vehicles.
William Porterfield, 27, and Chelsie Cline, 25, arrived in a silver Dodge vehicle, officials said. They were killed inside the vehicle while near the side of the car wash.
Courtney Snyder and Seth Cline were shot and killed in a green pickup truck, according to officials.
One unidentified woman, who was in the rear seat of the pickup truck, took cover and avoided the shooting. Officials said that woman suffered minor injuries from broken glass.
According to police, Smith allegedly arrived at the scene earlier in a red Toyota Tacoma and parked on the side of the car wash. Police said Smith wore a body armor carrier and had several magazines of ammo.
Officials confirmed Smith sustained a gunshot wound to the head and is not expected to survive.
Family told Channel 11 the shooting was a result of a domestic dispute. They said a man who used to date one of the victims opened fire on the group. We are still waiting on an official motive from police.
Family members also said two of the victims were brother and sister.
The shooting happened on Indian Creek Valley Road in Melcroft in Saltlick Township just before 3 a.m., police said.
Officials said all the victims were in their 20s to early 30s.
Indian Creek Valley Road is currently closed while police investigate.
Police have said there is no threat to the community.
This Is Insane What The Dumbasses have done if this story is true.
Online gamers have said in multiple Twitter posts that the shooting of a man Thursday night by Wichita police was the result of a “swatting” hoax involving two gamers.
Family says son killed by police in ‘swatting’ was unarmed, didn’t play video games | Pivot Point: If shooter games lead to real-life death, it’s time to hit pause
Swatting happened when someone makes a call to a police department with a false story of an ongoing crime – often with killing or hostages involved – in an attempt to draw a large number of police officers to a particular address.
Swatting has gained traction across the country with online gamers. Those who try to cause the swatting incident will use caller ID spoofing or other techniques to disguise their number as being local. Or they call local non-emergency numbers instead of 911, according to 911.gov.
Deputy Wichita Police Chief Troy Livingston said Thursday night that police were looking into whether the call that led to the shooting was a case of swatting.
Livingston said the department received a call that someone had an argument with their mother, that the father had been shot in the head and the shooter was holding his mother, brother and sister hostage.
“That was the information we were working off of,” he said.
‘Swatting’ led to fatal shooting of Andrew Finch, police say
During a police briefing at City Hall on Friday afternoon, Deputy Police Chief Troy Livingston describes the events that led to the fatal shooting of Andrew Finch by a Wichita police officer.
Officers went to the 1000 block of McCormick, preparing for a hostage situation and they “got into position,” he said.
“A male came to the front door,” Livingston said. “As he came to the front door, one of our officers discharged his weapon.”
Livingston didn’t say if the man, who was 28, had a weapon when he came to the door, or what caused the officer to shoot the man. Police don’t think the man fired at officers, but the incident is still under investigation, he said. The man, who has not been identified by police, died at a local hospital.
A family member identified that man who was shot by police as Andrew Finch. One of Finch’s cousins said Finch didn’t play video games.
“This call was little peculiar for us,” Livingston said. “(The call) went to a substation first, then it was relayed to dispatch, then dispatch gave it to us. We have a lot of information to go through.”
Richland County deputies are investigating an incident where one person was shot and later died.
Deputies say they were called to the McDonald’s located at 7011 Parklane Road around 4 a.m. following an argument that led to a person being shot outside in the restaurant’s parking lot.
The victim, identified as James K. Copeland III, 30, of Cumming, GA, was taken to Palmetto Health Richland in critical condition but later died.
Detectives say Sultan Battle was the man who shot Copeland, but the sheriff’s department and the 5th Circuit Solicitor’s Office ruled the incident a justifiable homicide.
Battle has been charged with kidnapping and armed robbery for the moments leading up to the shooting. Detectives say Battle met a woman at the Quality Inn at 8140 Two Notch Road with the intent to have sex with and rob her. Battle stole cash and a cell phone from the victim and ran away.
The victim called an acquaintance and they tracked the phone down to the McDonald’s on Parklane Road. The victim’s friend demanded the stolen items back from Sultan and pulled a gun on him. Sultan pointed a gun at him in return and shot him.
Battle is booked to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center where he will await a bond hearing.
Son Mutilated Dad, Posted Selfies After Murder: Prosecutors
CHICAGO (CBS) — Just days after he was served with a court order barring him from coming near his father, Cook County prosecutors said murdered the 61-year-old and mutilated the body in the basement of the older man’s West Pullman home.
He then allegedly posted several selfies on Facebook, the Chicago Sun-Times is reporting.
Led into court in shackles and white, jail-issued coveralls, the 26-year-old Edmondson muttered and ranted during a bond hearing Tuesday at the Leighton Criminal Courthouse.
When Assistant State’s Attorney Julia Ramirez said that Edmondson was facing a single count of first-degree murder, in addition to pending charges for violating the order of protection taken out by his father on Nov. 20, Edmondson shouted.
“The order of protection is gone,” he said, smiling. “He is no longer living.”
Edmondson laughed softly to himself as Ramirez described how Carl Edmondson’s body was found Saturday at the bottom of the basement stairs of his home in the 11500 block of South Bishop – the skull crushed and blood and brain matter splattered on the floor and walls.
Carlton Edmondson | Chicago Police
Carlton Edmondson shook his head and seemed to chuckle when Ramirez added that Carl Edmondson’s penis had been cut off.
The outbursts prompted Judge Stephanie Miller to order Carlton Edmondson out of the courtroom even before she ruled that he be held without bond.
Police went to the elder Edmondson’s house on the weekend after Carlton Edmondson’s uncle reported that he had stopped by and seen Carlton Edmondson inside the house, and knew that he not supposed to be there.
Carlton Edmondson answered the door when police arrived, and when asked the whereabouts of his father, said the older man was “at the hospital,” Ramirez said.
Police took Carlton Edmondson into custody, and found the body beside a Bowie knife, circular saw, and a “concrete capstone,” Ramirez said. The body smelled of gasoline, and a gas can lay nearby, Ramirez said. Inside the house, investigators found a black jacket that appeared to be the one Carlton Edmondson was wearing in pictures he posted to Facebook on Saturday.
In the photos, Carlton Edmondson holds a cigarette and grins at the camera, with what looks like blood spatter against the white logos on the jacket.
Using the odd punctuation and spelling Carlton Edmondson used for most of his posts, one photo is captioned “EyEm OAWn mA pEriOd #beebop #silenceofthelambs #gdshit #chevezwhatupfolkz.” A post from around 7 a.m. reads “EyE sIlEnCed thE LahmeDs.”
Edmondson’s Facebook profile lists his profession as “singer/songwriter.”
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office ruled that the elder Edmondson died of multiple injuries from assault.
Five days earlier, Carlton Edmondson was arrested for throwing a brick through the window of his father’s house, and was released on a recognizance bond from the police station.
Court records indicate Carlton Edmondson had been arrested six times since September on a variety of misdemeanor charges, including refusing to give his name to police officers who saw him drinking on a street corner; stealing a pair of $16 sunglasses from a South Side Target and snatching a 70-year-old woman’s cell phone as she bought lottery tickets at a convenience store.
In 2015, he was arrested for flashing his penis at police officers in the Loop, and also for refusing to leave a downtown 7-Eleven store.
Carlton Edmondson’s father’s first sought an order of protection from his son in August. He subsequently made another request for the order in October.
The order of protection barred Carlton Edmondson from having contact with his father or coming to his house. The younger Edmondson was served with a copy of the order when he was arrested, Ramirez said.
“Not guilty!” Carlton Edmondson yelled. “It wasn’t me. It wasn’t his jacket.”
Assistant Public Defender Kevin Ochalla told Miller that Carlton Edmondson was a graduate of Morgan Park High School and had attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.
When Ochalla asked that Carlton Edmondson be evaluated at the jail hospital, he shouted again.
“He got my death-body, G!” he said, pointing a finger at Ochalla. “I’ma kill him.”
