Keith Olbermann Fired Again

I’m A Narcissistic Prick

It’s hard to know whom to root for in the coming legal showdown between Keith Olbermann and Al Gore, the former a widely reviled liberal polemicist who cannot hold a job in cable TV and the latter a failed presidential candidate who launched a cable network in 2005 seemingly just for the fun of running it into the ground.

The ground got a lot closer on Thursday when Gore canned Olbermann, at once his worst nightmare and his foundering Current TV’s last real shot at success. The former vice president and his partner Joel Hyatt put out a statement “to viewers” in the pre-weekend news hole of Friday afternoon accusing Olbermann of breach of contract, meaning they have no plans to pay out the $50 million they reportedly owe him. A source suggests the figure is actually much lower, and in any event, it includes an equity stake in a television network no one watches.

Well, not no one: Around 177,000 viewers tuned in to watch Olbermann’s 8 p.m. “Countdown” broadcast at Current on the nights he turned up to work to host it. (Gore and Hyatt accuse him of breach for refusing to anchor many nights, including such important ones as the Iowa caucuses.) By contrast, Olbermann was pulling in around a million viewers from his old perch at MSNBC, from which he departed acrimoniously just 14 months ago. According to a statement from Current, Olbermann will be replaced by prostitute-aficionado Eliot Spitzer, who was fired in July from CNN.

The anchor, who divided his time at Current between feuding with his bosses and tweeting pictures of the sunset, responded to the network’s statement via Twitter, accusing Gore and Hyatt of not upholding their end of the bargain and vowing to sue. “In due course, the truth of the ethics of Mr. Gore and Mr. Hyatt will come out,” he wrote.

It is hardly a shocking denouement to a relationship that seemed doomed virtually from the start. After luring Olbermann with praise and the promise of riches and autonomy early last year, Gore and Hyatt quickly found out that the big star they thought they bought actually owned them. According to network sources, Olbermann bristled at the amount of money being invested in his show. He was frustrated not to have ultimate authority over other network hiring decisions. A committed nondriver, he complained about his car service.

Is Race Relations Better Under Obama

Get Your Race Card Now

If you’re a white person who voted for Barack Obama believing that his election would usher in a post-racial era in America, you must be very disappointed. Race relations have in fact never been more volatile and the nation is now sitting on a time bomb as we draw closer to another election. Whose fault is it? Race-baiting demagogues like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are feverishly trying to exploit the recent killing of a young black man in Florida for their own selfish agenda to boost their fading relevance. Typically they have jumped to conclusions before all the actual facts have been uncovered.

They are once again inciting racial violence by calling the killing of a black teenager, Trayvon Martin, a bias crime because the shooter, George Zimmerman, was first purported to be a white man. It turns out Zimmerman is a Hispanic from a biracial family but why let a little thing like the truth stop them from provoking a mob. The New Black Panther party, which has already been protected by Attorney General Eric Holder, has offered a bounty of 10k on Zimmerman’s head. Director Spike Lee, ever sensitive to attacks on blacks, re-tweeted the address of the Zimmerman family. Now why would he do that unless he hoped that a vindictive mob would exact payback for young Martin’s death?

The liberal media jumped on the bandwagon to help the efforts of these race-exploiters by posting a photo of the young Martin as a bright-eyed youth full of innocence. That photo provided by Martin’s family is in stark contrast to the one posted on his Facebook displaying a much tougher demeanor. An eyewitness to the shooting has disputed the media’s version and claims that the victim had actually attacked Zimmerman and this account was the reason police did not make an arrest. Since I was not there, prudence would dictate I pause before drawing a conclusion and await all the determining facts but that is not how Sharpton and Jackson operate.

Rallies are erupting all over the country as youths seeking a cause to prove their relevance in life join to condemn an injustice that may not exist. Who profits from the t-shirt sales and other merchandise eulogizing the martyred black man? Follow the money is never the action taken by those determined to, as Rahm Emmanuel once intoned, “Never let a crisis go to waste.”

The 2008 election should have forewarned us about the thuggery that was to follow when the Black Panthers were allowed to intimidate white voters at a polling site. The intelligent and fair minded members of the black communities are appalled at what has occurred since Obama took office and appointed Eric Holder as Attorney General and general apologist for his errors in judgment. Kevin Jackson just wrote in his Black Sphere blog, “Obama and the Left are taking the Trayvon Martin story and making it about racism, gun control, and INTOLERANCE, while ignoring the THOUSANDS of tragedies that happen every day around this country.

“Hyper-sensitive race activists never become outraged by scenes of black on white crimes which somehow never get the attention of the media yet go viral on YouTube. A plethora of racial anarchic events by black thugs are routinely occurring but will not be evident in mainstream media reports.

“The latest report of hate crimes by blacks occurred recently in Kansas City where a 13-year old was doused with gasoline and lit on fire by two teenagers who said, “This is what you deserve. You get what you deserve, white boy.'”

Last August, WTMJ reported, “According to witnesses, a group of anywhere from 30 to 100 young black men descended on the Wisconsin State Fair last night, beating fairgoers and looting carnival games, in what witnesses said were racially-motivated attacks.” One eyewitness Eric, an Iraq war veteran, recalled, “I had a black couple on my right side, and these black kids were running in between all the cars, and they were pounding on my doors and trying to open up doors on my car, and they didn’t do one thing to this black couple that was in this car next to us. They just kept walking right past their car. They were looking in everybody’s windshield as they were running by, seeing who was white and who was black. Guarantee it.”

In Texas, Barry Crawford, a black man, shot and killed a white man, Steven Hardin, over a parking dispute. He was found guilty but the jury sentenced Crawford to 10 years adjudication, a form of probation-for murder. There have been no rallies for this injustice.

Whites are not the only target of black thugs as reported by CBS local news in Georgia. Davis Do, an Asian American, endured a tremendous beating by a group of young Negros. Some of the assailants were college football players. The attack happened in McDonough, Georgia, at a bar. The victim said that they put his body under a car, thinking that he was dead.

Anti-Semitic incidents are also disregarded especially if found to be committed by Muslims who for some reason (cowardice?) are treated with kid gloves by the global press. In Toulouse, France, the brutal murder of a rabbi and three children was at first leaked as the work of Neo-Nazis but was in fact committed by a young jihadist.

The New York Times, the Washington Post and other mainstream media outlets will cover the Trayvon Martin killing ad nauseum as will the television networks ignoring other bias crimes. I watched a CNN report interviewing other blacks in the city who retold their own horror stories with the Sandford, Florida, police department but this TV spot did not give the police an opportunity to dispute these narratives. Fair and balanced? I think not!

Murders against women condoned by sharia law fail to raise the outrage by feminist groups and again will only be exposed on conservative sites on the Web or talk radio. We are living in a time where propaganda of the liberal point of view trumps all and while the truth is out there, it’s nonexistent in the mainstream media.

On March 1st, Andrew Breitbart, passed away at the age of 43 and a great warrior of the truth was lost to America. This man established the Big sites to expose the lies of politicians and public figures and ferret out the truth backed by videos and iron clad documentation. I feel very proud to be a contributor at several of the Breitbart sites.

While Andrew may have passed on his legacy is the continuing vetting of Barack Obama that the media failed to do and the resulting stream of facts about his congenital socialist core that are emerging from his successors are mind-boggling.

Unless one has access to the Internet where all one has to do is log on to YouTube and search for bias incidents committed against whites, one might believe Jesse Jackson when he says that only blacks are being attacked.

No wonder liberals are determined to shut down free speech on the airwaves and the Net.

Want the truth? It’s out there but can you handle it?

Another Teacher accused of having sex with student

A Hemet teacher is being investigated for allegedly performing sexual acts with a student inside a locked classroom.

A 17-year-old Hemet High junior told a school official that ninth-grade English teacher Janel Ramirez, 31, had initiated their relationship and kissed him while she was still a teacher’s aide, the Riverside Press Enterprise reported Monday.

The newspaper obtained a search warrant and an affidavit alleging that Ramirez began kissing and fondling the student when the pair were alone in a classroom working on an essay. The student also alleges that Ramirez guided him to a chair and where she performed oral copulation, and on another day the student and teacher had intercourse. The warrant states that Ramirez told the student they would be together after college.

In a statement, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said that school administrators reported the incident Feb. 29 and the misconduct is alleged to have occurred in December. Ramirez was arrested March 1.

Sheriff’s spokesman Albert Martinez said the department has handed the case to the Riverside District Attorney can provide no additional information. According to online inmate records, Ramirez was charged with two counts of oral copulation, one count of unlawful sex with a minor, and one count of consensual sex with a minor. She was released on $100,000 bail.

“We are reviewing the case but we have not made a filing decision,” said John Hall, a spokesman with the Riverside County district attorney’s office.  “She hasn’t been formally charged on anything.”

It was unclear if the school district has placed Ramirez on leave. A call to the Hemet Unified School District was not immediately returned.

Obama Killing More Jobs With New EPA Rules

I Have Split Personality

The Obama administration on Tuesday proposed the first-ever standards to cut carbon dioxide emissions from new power plants — a move welcomed by environmentalists but criticized by some utilities as well as Republicans, who are expected to use it as election campaign fodder.

“Right now there are no limits to the amount of carbon pollution that future power plants will be able to put into our skies — and the health and economic threats of a changing climate continue to grow,” Lisa Jackson, head of the Environmental Protection Agency, said in a statement.

While the proposed rules do not dictate which fuels a plant can burn, they would require any new coal plants essentially to halve carbon dioxide emissions to match those of plants fired by natural gas.

The proposed standards have divided the power industry between companies that have moved toward natural gas, such as Exelon and NextEra, and those that generate most of their power from coal, such as Southern Co. and American Electric Power.

Record low prices for natural gas and the looming air rules already have pushed many companies to put older coal plants into retirement.

“There are areas where they could have made it a lot worse,” said Scott Segal, director of the Electric Reliability Coordinating Council, a coalition of power companies. Still, “the numerical limit allows progress for natural gas and places compliance out of reach for coal-fired plants” not planning to capture and sequester carbon dioxide, the chief greenhouse gas.

Steve Miller, CEO and President of the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity, a group of coal-burning electricity producers, took a more dismal view, saying it “will make it impossible to build any new coal-fueled power plants and could cause the premature closure of many more coal-fueled power plants operating today.”

Other opponents of the long-delayed EPA proposal say it will limit sources for electricity by making coal prohibitively expensive.

“This rule is part of the Obama administration’s aggressive plan to change America’s energy portfolio and eliminate coal as a source of affordable, reliable electricity generation,” said Rep. Fred Upton, R-Mich., who as chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee has led the charge against environmental regulations. “EPA continues to overstep its authority and ram through a series of overreaching regulations in it attacks on America’s power sector.”

Republicans in Congress and on the campaign trail have claimed that Obama-era rules affecting power plants in recent years could cause blackouts. Numerous studies and an Associated Press survey of power plant operators have shown that is not the case.

Environmentalists were quick to welcome the proposals, which will be finalized after an undetermined period that will include public comments.

Frances Beinecke, president of the Natural Resources Defense Council, called it a “historic step … toward protecting the most vulnerable among us — including the elderly and our children — from smog worsened by carbon-fueled climate change.”

The American Lung Association agreed. “Scientists warn that the buildup of carbon pollution will create warmer temperatures which will increase the risk of unhealthful smog levels,” said board chairman Albert Rizzo. “More smog means more childhood asthma attacks and complications for those with lung disease.”

The proposed rules would affect only new plants, not existing plants, which was a concession to industry. In addition, they would not apply to units that will start construction within the next 12 months.

Still, the proposals could set the stage for the EPA to regulate existing plants in the coming years.

The EPA is moving forward on the climate rules, which do not need approval by Congress, after a wide-ranging climate bill died in the Senate in 2010.

The proposal, which was due to be released last July but was held up at the White House, stemmed from a settlement with environmental groups and states. The government already controls global warming pollution at the largest industrial sources, has adopted the first-ever standards for new cars and trucks and is working on regulations to reduce greenhouse gases at existing power plants and refineries.

Obama Tells Medvedev He Will Sell US Out After Election

SEOUL — In a private conversation made public by a live microphone, President Obama appeared to be putting off diplomatic talks with Russian leaders about a controversial missile defense system until after the November election, prompting quick attacks from the president’s Republican rivals.

Obama was seen on video Monday in a casual chat with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev at a nuclear security summit in Seoul. On the tape, Obama leans toward Medvedev and can be heard giving him a message for the once and future Russian president, Vladimir Putin.

“On all these issues, but particularly missile defense, this can be solved,” Obama said. “But it’s important for him to give me space.

“This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility.”

“I understand,” Medvedev responded. “I will transmit this information to Vladimir.”

The exchange, its air of secrecy enhanced by the muffled audio, raised alarm among Obama’s critics about his long-term commitment to the missile defense system. The U.S. has promoted it as a shield to protect Europe from missile attacks by Iran. The Russians fear it’s aimed at them, and opposition to the missile shield was a major theme of Putin’s recent presidential campaign.

Putin, who previously served two four-year terms as president, won a new six-year term March 5 in an election that critics charge was flawed. He will succeed Medvedev, who replaced him in 2008 when term limits prevented Putin from seeking a third successive term.

Mitt Romney, the front-runner for the Republican nomination, accused Obama of “pulling his punches with the American people” and obscuring his plans for the missile defense system.

House Speaker John A. Boehner(R-Ohio) said “we look forward” to hearing what the president meant by “more flexibility” when he returns from South Korea.

John Bolton, ambassador to the United Nations during the George W. Bush administration, called Obama’s comments a “fire bell in the night,” which signaled not only that Obama would scale back the missile defense program, but also that he might be planning to give ground on a range of national security priorities.

“There’s huge cause for concern here,” Bolton said.

Obama is too much of “a politician to entirely show his hand in the first term, but it would be open season” if he is reelected, Bolton said.

By afternoon, the Republican National Committee had created a video ad with the subtitle, “What Obama tells world leaders when he thinks you aren’t listening.”

White House aides said the president was still “deeply invested” in the missile defense system.

Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes said after the recording became public that the two leaders had been talking about Russia’s objections to the missile defense system and agreed to talk later because of political concerns on both sides. The two sides have been trying in vain for years to reach a breakthrough on missile defense, and no one was expecting a dramatic change at this week’s nuclear summit.

What Obama meant by “flexibility” was unclear. Some analysts speculate the U.S. might try to win over the Russians by showing them classified data to prove that the system could take down Iranian launches but not Russian intercontinental ballistic missiles. Few experts think that would convince the Russians.

Public broadcast of the private exchange provided a rare glimpse at the candor world leaders sometimes exhibit at such high-level meetings. Last year, journalists overheard Obama and French President Nicolas Sarkozy talking about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Sarkozy said he “can’t stand” Netanyahu.

French Teacher Wants Killer Honored (Liberalism Is A Mental Disorder)

[flagallery gid=all name=”Gallery”]

Whatever Happen To COMMON SENSE?

A French teacher was suspended Friday for allegedly urging her class to observe a minute’s silence for serial killer Mohamed Merah, the day after he was shot dead by police.

Education Minister Luc Chatel had called for the teacher to be suspended after her class reported she called Merah a “victim” and said his links to Al-Qaeda were invented by the media and “Sarko”, referring to President Nicolas Sarkozy.

“An immediate suspension has been decided along with a ban on entering the school,” the local education authority’s Florence Robine told journalists, adding that the suspension did not imply any guilt.

Student representatives in the final year class in the northern city of Rouen wrote to the principal to voice “shock” at being urged in an English lesson to pay respect to a self-declared Al-Qaeda militant who killed seven people.

Most of the class walked out, though some remained “to try to understand what she was talking about,” their letter said.

She “clearly said that Mohamed Merah was a victim, that the link with Al-Qaeda had been invented by the media and ‘Sarko’,” said the letter, a copy of which was published by the Paris Normandie newspaper.

“This is not the political act of an extremist but the act of a colleague who has health concerns, who is fragile and who is receiving psychological treatment,” the local head of the SGEN-CFDT union, Pascal Bossuyt, told AFP.

“She said something unfortunate in a particular context and she immediately regretted what she said,” he added.

Police shot Merah dead on Thursday at his flat in southwest France where he was holed up after going on a jihadist-inspired killing spree. His victims included three young Jewish children and three paratroopers.

Following the attack on the Jewish children, schools around France held a minute’s silence in their memory.

The teacher was not immediately available to comment.
