Job Growth Is Looking Bad Before Election Debate Starts

I Barack Obama Did It

A weaker-than-expected jobs report became election-year fodder as Republicans seized on the numbers to criticize President Barack Obama, and Democrats warned against reading too much into one month of data.

The Labor Department said April 6 that employers added 120,000 jobs in March, after an increase of 227,000 in February. It was the fewest jobs added in five months. Unemployment fell to 8.2 percent from 8.3 percent as discouraged workers left the labor force. The jobs growth was less than the most pessimistic estimate in a Bloomberg News survey of economists.

The election may turn on independent voters’ views of U.S. economic policy, Ohio (BEESOH) Governor John Kasich said on NBC’s “Meet the Press today.

‘‘Whoever can tell them that they’re going to improve this economy, create jobs for families, will be the winner,’’ said Kasich, a Republican. Ohio (NFSEOH) voters backed Obama in 2008 and have supported the national winner in every presidential election since 1960.

Senator Richard Durbin, an Illinois Democrat, indicated disappointment with the latest jobs numbers.

‘‘Like the president, we want this to move more quickly,’’ Durbin said on NBC. ‘‘We’re moving in the right direction.’’

The comments by Durbin and Kasich echoed statements that Obama and Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney made soon after the jobs report’s release.

 Employment Gains

Obama, who is seeking a second four-year term, said the new jobs are ‘‘welcome’’ and pointed to employment gains over the past two years.

Romney, who has more than half the delegates he needs to secure the Republican nomination, said Obama’s ‘‘excuses have run out.’’

Kasich blamed the political divide between the parties in Washington for the failure to improve conditions more quickly.

‘‘Government clearly has a role in the area of health care, in Medicare (FFSOMED) and in Medicaid (USBOMDCA) and in Social Security,’’ he said. ‘‘But we need to modernize the program, and we need to do it together.’’

Durbin criticized the budget passed by House Republicans, saying that the proposed changes to Medicare would force future retirees to find health care on the open market.

As Obama has done, Durbin criticized Romney, the former Massachusetts governor, for describing the House budget plan as ‘‘marvelous.’’

 Romney’s Approach

Romney’s approach would constitute ‘‘a return to the same economic policy we had under President Bush that brought on the worst recession since the Great Depression,” Durbin said, referring to Republican President George W. Bush. “We don’t want to go back to those economic policies.”

Republicans said that the Democratic-controlled Senate hasn’t passed a budget and that Obama hasn’t identified a clear plan for reducing the federal budget deficit and debt.

Senator Ron Johnson, a Wisconsin Republican, said on “Fox News Sunday” that voters in November would encounter an “extremely stark choice” about the economy and the budget.

“We need presidential leadership and we have none,” he said.

What’s lacking, said Democratic Senator Kent Conrad, is bipartisan cooperation. Conrad, of North Dakota, is chairman of the Senate Budget Committee and has endorsed plans to reduce the deficit that rely on spending cuts and tax increases. Most Republicans say spending cuts alone should be used.

“If we don’t get together, we can’t accomplish anything,” he said on Fox today in an appearance with Johnson.

 Post-Election Agreement

Conrad said a broad budget agreement may emerge after the election. He said that could happen either before or after Jan. 1, when income tax cuts expire and automatic spending cuts are scheduled to take effect.

Congress returns to work on the week of April 16. The Senate is scheduled to consider the “Buffett Rule,” a tax bill backed by Democrats that would require people making over $2 million to pay at least a 30 percent effective tax rate.

The rule is named for billionaire investor Warren Buffett, who has called for higher taxes on investment income.

Obama is planning a speech on the Buffett Rule April 10 in Boca Raton, Florida.

Separately, Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich said Romney is “far and away” the most likely candidate to win the Republican nomination.

Speaking on Fox, the former speaker of the House said today he’ll endorse Romney if he gets a majority of the delegates to the Republican nominating convention.

 ‘Very Substantial Machine’

“I have no regrets, but it’s clear that Governor Romney has done a very good job of building a very substantial machine,” Gingrich said. He added that his campaign is in debt and that he spent money in a “real brawl” in Florida, where he lost the Jan. 31 primary to Romney.

“We’re operating on a shoestring,” said Gingrich, 68.

After the latest round of primary voting, Romney has 658 delegates, according to an Associated Press tally. That is more than half the 1,144 needed to capture the nomination. Former Senator Rick Santorum has 281 delegates, Gingrich trails with 135 delegates and U.S. Representative Ron Paul of Texas has 51.

If Romney is the nominee, Gingrich said, “I will work as hard for him as I would for myself” during the fall campaign. Republicans are all committed to defeating Obama, a “genuine radical,” he said.

2 Whites Arrested in Tulsa Shooting of Blacks

“Whatever Happen! To COMMON SENSE.”

Two men have been arrested in connection with Friday’s shooting spree in Tulsa, Okla., that left three pedestrians dead and two in critical condition, police said of the possible hate crime.

Jake England, 19, and Alvin Watts, 32, were arrested at a house north of Tulsa around 2 a.m. this morning and are expected to be charged with three counts of murder and two counts of shooting with intent to kill, according to officials.

The five men were shot early Friday morning in four separate incidents during a span of less than two hours on the same side of town and not far from one another, police said.

Police identified the dead men as Dannaer Fields, 49, Bobby Clark, 54, and William Allen, 31.

Two males were critically wounded in the shooting spree. All of the victims were targeted while they were out walking, and apparently did not know each other.

“We have not been able to find any commonality between the victims other than they were walking on the street,” Sgt. Dave Walker of the Tulsa Police Department said.

One of the victims who survived the attack described the shooter as a white male in a white pick-up truck, a detail that proved critical in finding and arresting the suspects.

Was This a Hate Crime?

Although the two men arrested are white and victims black, the crimes have yet to been deemed racially motivated. The task force’s job will be to determine whether federal hate crime laws were violated, Tulsa World reported.

Police Chief Chuck Jordan said “logic would lead you to believe that” these were hate crimes, but the police haven’t yet assessed all of the evidence to make that determination.

Tulsa Police Officer Jason Willingham said, “At this point, we’re not real sure [if the shootings were racially motivated]. Obviously we’ve just made the arrests. We need to conduct some more follow up interviews and things and hopefully some more of those details will come to light.”

Dr. Warren Blakney, who heads the local chapter of the NAACP, believes the shooter did group his prey together.

“We feel like he’s targeting African Americans in this part of town. And I think some parts of law enforcement feel the same way,” Blakney said Saturday.

City Councilor Jack Henderson said, “I was NAACP president for seven years and I understand and I know hate crime when I see one.”

Suspect’s Father Murder Anniversary?

On England’s Facebook page, his father, Carl England, was shot and killed April 5, 2010, almost exactly two years before Friday’s shootings, according to the Tulsa World’s archives.

A black man was charged and is serving a prison sentence for the crime.

On Thursday at 4:04 p.m., England wrote, “Today is two years that my dad has been gone shot by a f—— n—– it’s hard not to go off between that and sheran I’m gone in the head.” According to England’s Facebook page, his girlfriend, Sheran Hart Wilde, recently died.

On Friday night, England posted on Facebook, “Chilling at that house people talking s— on me for some s— I didn’t do … it just mite be the time to call it quits I I hate to say it like that but I’m done if something does happen tonite be ready for another funeral later.”

‘Operation Random Shooter’

The Tulsa Police Department joined forces with the FBI and the U.S. Marshals Saturday in what they called “Operation Random Shooter” and asked those with any information relating to the case to come forward.

Mayor Dewey Bartlett today thanked the public for its help in capturing the men.

“We had received a few tips about one of them and then it became apparent the two of the possibly acted together,” Bartlett said.

Officials initially described the suspect as a “Lone Wolf.”

“We assumed that there could be more obviously involved,” officer Willingham said. “But, you know, until we got further in to this case, it didn’t reveal itself that there was two individuals involved.”

that there was two individuals involved.”

White group marching in Florida where Trayvon Martin was killed

A heavily armed troop of Neo-Nazis are goose-stepping around the Florida town where Trayvon Martin was killed.

Members of the Detroit-based National Socialist Movement are patrolling Sanford, Florida proclaiming they’re prepared for violence in case of a race riot, its commander Jeff Schoep told the Miami New Times.

“We are not the type of white people who are going to be walked all over.” he said.

“Whenever there is one of these racially charged events, Al Sharpton goes wherever blacks need him. We do similar things. We are a white civil rights organization.”

He said the patrols will protect “white citizens in the area who are concerned for their safety.”

Schoep cited that a group calling itself the New Black Panther Party put up a $10,000 reward for the citizens’ arrest of George Zimmerman, Martin’s shooter.

“But if we called for a bounty on someone’s head, I guarantee we’d be locked up as quick as I could walk out of my house,” he said.

Martin was killed Feb. 26 by Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer who claimed he fired in self defense under Florida’s controversial “Stand Your Ground” law. He has since gone into hiding.

The neo-Nazi patrols are comprised of 10 and 20 locals and “volunteers” from across the state, including some from Miami.

Schoep said he wasn’t taking sides in the shooting.

“I think there is some confusion going on. A lot of people think that this guy who shot Trayvon was white, but he’s half Hispanic or Cuban or something. He certainly doesn’t look white to me.”

“You can either be prepared or you can be blind-sided. This way, if something were to touch off a race riot, we’d already be in the area.”

A Martin family spokesman blasted vigilantism — from both sides.

“The family has consistently voiced their opposition to anyone on either side of this issue taking the law into their own hands. This is simply about a family’s quest to find lawful justice for their son,” Ryan Julison told The Post.

How To Response To A Negative Book Reviewer (Amazon)

The Dr. of Common Sense

“This is an open letter that I sent to Mr. Terry Holt who gave me a very negative review when I asked him kindly to finish my review after over a month of waiting for the review. He only gave me a review after I threaten him with a deadline.”

Dear Mr. Holt,

You got your chance to do your review and now I’m going to do a video and post it on my website and a review of the lousy job you did. I don’t care about your review or if you agree with me. Unlike you or the rest of you dam liberals I speak my mind and I don’t care if you like it or not. If you think for one minute I believe that you was going to give me a review before I sent you the last email, believe me you are not fooling me.

If you look at my Youtube Channel you will see that criticism does not bother me it actual fuels me. When I saw that you were from Illinois I figured you were a flaming liberal, but I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. You think I don’t have a life too. So I don’t want to hear about how busy you were. This is why that dam Liberal Keith Olbermann was fired. He was not doing is dam job. Liberals like you are always making excuses on why they did not get a job done. Use the Nike slogan and “just do it”.

We would not be at this particular crossroad if you had done what you were supposed to do. Your unprofessional comment on the review on Amazon and your website tells me all I need to know. “I must say my thoughts on this book were not like everyone else reviewing it for Amazon, and that’s not because of the author’s negativity towards me because I was not getting his review out fast enough for him.” Why would you make a comment publicly about a conversation that we were having privately. I can tell you why you did it. It’s because you are a partisan flaming liberal who lets his personal feelings get in his way giving grown up reviews.

It is obvious that you are in the wrong dam business just like most media hack liberals who are reporting. That’s what’s wrong with our little boys now, people are telling them not to discuss or show their true emotions. You dam right I’m angry! I’m angry at how little boys can’t even play cops and robbers because they are displaying too much aggression. I’m angry that when my kids have kids you’re President has run the country in the ground so much that they will not have any money nor the opportunities that we had. It is time out for hiding your anger, no if you are not upset now it is because you are brain dead. If the house is on fire you don’t stroll care free and say in a low voice “the house is on fire.” No you go through the house screaming “THE HOUSE IS ON FIRE.”

By the way the house is on fire and I’m, going to scream fire to anyone who is willing to get out of the house, or put the dam fire out. If you had gave me this review before I had sent email after email, I would have given you the benefit of the doubt. Let’s not forget that you contacted me for my book I did not contact you. But I’m going to teach you a lesson that it is painfully obvious you have never learned. When you say you are going to do something, don’t get mad because someone ask you do what you said you would do.

I was more than patient with you, because you had the book longer than a month, and when I inquired you about progress you got snappy. In the days of old when men would get angry about injustice they would express anger. We have been teaching this positive thinking and not being angry for the last 10 or 15 years and we are failing our children miserably. The Titanic is going down and I refuse to pretend that everything is alright.  Get your liberal head out of your butt and act like a man.

I bet you are ashamed to scream and holler if you even watch sports, because you do not want to come off as angry or be accused of showing to much aggression.  You also said in your review “It was written it felt like to me, by someone who got very angry one day and decide to put all down on paper. There are many things in this world today that do not make sense and could be done better, but when you express it this way, it only scares people, instead of take notice. Anger comes from a lack of patience….so let’s be patient.” Listen you little Winnie I hope I can scare you and a lot more people and maybe they will get their heads out of their behinds. I’m not patient with wimpy men nor can I tolerate unfounded arguments and utter ignorance.

Did you remember chapter 22 of the book where I discuss “The Media Is To Blame? I bet you have never blamed Keith Olbermann for being angry or Bill Maher for being negative. I call this convenient over concern with outrage at the truth. So if you plan on staying in this business maybe you can show some patience and discipline when you review someone’s work. I’m sending this open letter to you and all the rest of the bias media who give people negative reports based primary on their own difference of opinion.

In closing I want you to know that I kept all the email exchanges between us to prove my case. I can show were you first contacted me and I show how I responded professionally until it became evident that you were stalling. It was not until I gave you a deadline and threaten to contact Amazon who you review for that you rushed your comments over. Learn some type of ethics if you plan on staying in this business Mr. Holt.

Regards,

Elmer Williams AKA ET Williams

People Hate Samantha Brick Because She Is Beautiful

The Most Beautiful Woman In The World, So Get Over Yourself

Click on the Link Below To Watch Tribute Video

Special tribute to Samantha Brick (Click To Watch The Video)

The other day, the Daily Mail ran a piece by Samantha Brick that wasn’t titled – but should have been – Women Hate Me Because I’m Beautiful. It’s now gone viral, prompting another essay from Brick herself.

To sum up the original piece, though it’s best if you read it for yourself if you have time (and patience) to spare, Brick is basically saying she’s so pretty that every woman hates her.

Female bosses have constantly set obstacles in the path of her career, friends have ditched her because they wrongly assume their husbands fancy her, and women in general have nothing but hate for her.

Men, on the other hand, love her. They love to pay for stuff for her, to open doors and offer small tokens of their appreciation, she wrote.

Ms. Brick even offered examples of the many advantages she has in life for being so incredibly beautiful (photo attached), and they range from having the captain of the plane send champagne to her seat to bartenders refusing her credit card because they want to pay the bill themselves.

We’ll not interpret Ms. Brick’s words in any way, which is why it’s probably best if you read the piece and make up your own mind about it.

The bottom line is that it went viral: over 5,000 people commented on it over at the Mail, it registered over 1 million hits, and sparked an insane debate on Twitter and Facebook.

According to most, Samantha is deluded and she’s so arrogant it’s a wonder she can still fit her head through the door when she goes to work every morning.

Others believe that it’s not her beauty that pushes people away, but her insufferable attitude.

In a new essay, Ms. Brick herself says the outpour of “vitriol” has done nothing but confirm for her the obvious: people do hate her because she’s pretty.

She also compares herself to Angelina Jolie and Victoria Beckham. This piece too is a must read.

“While I’ve been shocked and hurt by the global condemnation, I have just this to say: my detractors have simply proved my point. Their level of anger only underlines that no one in this world is more reviled than a pretty woman,” Samantha Brick says.

We can’t afford Obamacare

Elect Me For President, Because I can Do A Better Job Than Obama

Obamacare dominated the 2010 midterms, driving its Democratic authors to a historic electoral shellacking. But since then, the issue has slipped quietly underground.

Now it’s back, summoned to the national stage by the confluence of three disparate events: the release of new Congressional Budget Office cost estimates, the approach of Supreme Court hearings on the law’s constitutionality and the issuance of a compulsory contraception mandate.

Cost:

Obamacare was carefully constructed to manipulate the standard 10-year cost projections of the CBO. Because benefits would not fully kick in for four years, President Obama could trumpet 10-year gross costs of less than $1 trillion — $938 billion to be exact.

But now that the near-costless years 2010 and 2011 have elapsed, the true 10-year price tag comes into focus. From 2013 through 2022, the CBO reports, the costs of Obamacare come to $1.76 trillion — almost twice the phony original number.

It gets worse. Annual gross costs after 2021 are more than a quarter of $1 trillion every year — until the end of time. That, for a new entitlement in a country already drowning in $16 trillion of debt.

Constitutionality:

Beginning Monday, the Supreme Court will hear challenges to the law. The American people, by an astonishing two-thirds majority, want the law and/or the individual mandate tossed out by the court. In practice, however, questions this momentous are generally decided 5 to 4 — i.e., they depend on whatever side of the bed Justice Anthony Kennedy gets out of that morning.

Ultimately, the question will hinge on whether the Commerce Clause has any limits. If the federal government can compel a private citizen, under threat of a federally imposed penalty, to engage in a private contract with a private entity (to buy health insurance), is there anything the federal government cannot compel the citizen to do?

If Obamacare is upheld, it fundamentally changes the nature of the American social contract. It means the effective end of a government of enumerated powers — i.e., finite, delineated powers beyond which the government may not go, beyond which lies the free realm of the people and their voluntary institutions. The new post-Obamacare dispensation is a central government of unlimited power from which citizen and civil society struggle to carve out and maintain spheres of autonomy.

Figure becomes ground; ground becomes figure. The stakes could not be higher.

Coerciveness.

Serendipitously, the recently issued regulation on contraceptive coverage has allowed us to see exactly how this new power works. All institutions — excepting only churches, but not excepting church-run charities, hospitals, etc. — will be required to offer health care that must include free contraception, sterilization and drugs that cause abortion.

Consider the cascade of arbitrary bureaucratic decisions that resulted in this edict:

(1) Contraception, sterilization and abortion pills are classified as medical prevention. On whose authority? The secretary of health and human services, invoking the Institute of Medicine. But surely categorizing pregnancy as a disease equivalent is a value decision disguised as science. If contraception is prevention, what are fertility clinics? Disease inducers? And if contraception is prevention because it lessens morbidity and saves money, by that logic, mass sterilization would be the greatest boon to public health since the pasteurization of milk.

(2) This type of prevention is free — no co-pay. Why? Is contraception morally superior to or more socially vital than — and thus more of a “right” than — penicillin for a child with pneumonia?

(3) “Religious” exemptions to this edict extend only to churches, places where the faithful worship God, and not to church-run hospitals and charities, places where the faithful do God’s work. Who promulgated this definition, so stunningly ignorant of the very idea of religious vocation? The almighty HHS secretary.

Today, it’s the Catholic Church whose free-exercise powers are under assault from this cascade of diktats sanctioned by — indeed required by — Obamacare. Tomorrow it will be the turn of other institutions of civil society that dare stand between unfettered state and atomized citizen.

Rarely has one law so exemplified the worst of the Leviathan state — grotesque cost, questionable constitutionality and arbitrary bureaucratic coerciveness. Little wonder the president barely mentioned it in his latest State of the Union address. He wants to be reelected. He’d rather talk about other things.

But there’s no escaping it now. Oral arguments begin Monday at 10 a.m.
