Jimmy Carter Was A Terrible President And Maybe Worst When He Became A Citizen Again

The truth is that historians have not been harsh enough.
APOPULAR narrative surrounding the legacy of Jimmy Carter is that as president he was a victim of unlucky timing that impeded him politically but that he excelled during his long post-presidential career. The reality is that he was a terrible president but an even worse former president

Carter’s true legacy is one of economic misery at home and embarrassment on the world stage. He left the country in its weakest position of the post–World War II era. After being booted out of office in landslide fashion, the self-described “citizen of the world” spent the rest of his life meddling in U.S. foreign policy and working against the United States and its allies in a manner that could fairly be described as treasonous. His obsessive hatred of Israel, and pompous belief that only he could forge Middle East peace, led him to befriend terrorists and lash out at American Jews who criticized him.
A former governor of Georgia who had little charisma and national name recognition when he began campaigning for president, Carter ended up in the White House as a fluke. He presented an image as an honest, moderate, and humble southern Evangelical Christian outsider — an antidote to the corruption of the Watergate era. He also benefited from the vulnerabilities of the sitting president, Gerald Ford.

Once in office as an unlikely president, Carter spent his one and only term showing the American people, and the rest of the world, that he was not up to the job.
When he took the presidential oath in January 1977, the unemployment rate was a high 7.5 percent; when he left office in January 1981, it was just as high. Meanwhile, inflation, which was already elevated at 5.7 percent in 1976, the year he was elected, went up in each of his years in office — and reached a staggering 13.5 percent in 1980, the year he was booted out. The only year in the post–World War II period in which inflation was higher was 1947, when the economy was booming and unemployment was minuscule. Put another way, to maintain the buying power that $100 had on the month Carter was sworn into office, you’d need $150 by the time he left the White House just four years later. Under Carter, gas prices doubled, and the supply became so scarce that Americans had to endure long lines at stations to fill up their tanks.
On the international stage, Carter showed weakness, and America’s enemies took notice. Rather than recognize the true nature of the Soviet threat, he preached the defeatist ideology of “peaceful coexistence,” and the USSR steamrolled into Afghanistan. Also under his watch, radical Islamic revolutionaries took over Iran, holding Americans hostage for the last 444 days of his presidency.
It is telling that the defining speech of his presidency was known as the “malaise speech,” in which he spoke not as a leader but as an essayist writing on the “crisis of confidence” in America. He observed: “For the first time in the history of our country a majority of our people believe that the next five years will be worse than the past five years.” As he built a legacy of scarcity, he criticized Americans for wanting plenty, lamenting that “too many of us now tend to worship self-indulgence and consumption.”
It should be no surprise that Ronald Reagan’s message of strength and optimism turned 1980 into a complete rout. Carter not only lost 489 electoral votes to 49, but he got trounced by ten points in the popular vote — even though an independent candidate, John Anderson, drew 7 percent.
Carter, who performatively carried his own luggage as president, tried to present himself as humble. But somebody actually humble would have taken the hint by the magnitude of his defeat. The real Jimmy Carter was stubborn and arrogant. He had plans for a second term, and he wanted to see them through despite the overwhelming rejection by the American people. So instead of stepping away, he spent the rest of his life simply pretending that he was still president and pursuing foreign policy goals even when it meant undermining the actual president.
The two most egregious examples of this came in his efforts to stop the first Iraq War and his freelance nuclear diplomacy with North Korea.
In his mostly sycophantic 1998 book on Carter’s post–White House career, The Unfinished Presidency, Douglas Brinkley gave a startling account of Carter’s behavior in the run-up to the 1990–91 Persian Gulf conflict.
Concerned by the looming threat of war after Saddam Hussein’s invasion of Kuwait, Carter pulled out all the stops — and then some — to try to thwart the president, George H. W. Bush. Carter’s efforts started off within the realm of acceptable opposition for a former president. He wrote op-eds, hosted conferences, gave speeches — all urging peace talks as an alternative to repelling Saddam with the use of military force.
But when that failed, he took things to an extraordinary level. Carter wrote a letter to the leaders of every country on the U.N. Security Council, as well as a dozen other world leaders, Brinkley recounted, making “a direct appeal to hold ‘good faith’ negotiations with Saddam Hussein before entering upon a war. Carter implied that mature nations should not act like lemmings, blindly following George Bush’s inflammatory ‘line in the sand rhetoric.’”
As if this weren’t enough, on January 10, 1991 — just five days before a deadline that had been set for Saddam to withdraw — Carter wrote to key Arab leaders urging them to abandon their support for the U.S., undermining months of careful diplomacy by the Bush administration. “You may have to forego approval from the White House, but you will find the French, Soviets and others fully supportive,” Carter advised them.
It is one thing for a former president to express opposition to a policy of the sitting president, but by actively working to get foreign leaders to withdraw support for the U.S. days before troops were to be in the cross fire, Carter was taking actions that were closer to treason than they were to legitimate peace activism.
Carter’s meddling was not limited to the first Iraq War or to Republican administrations. In 1994, there was a standoff between the U.S., its allies, and North Korea over the communist country’s nuclear program. The U.S. was floating the idea of sanctions at the United Nations. Over the years, Carter had received multiple invitations to visit North Korea from Kim Il-sung and was eager to fly over and defuse the situation with an ultimate goal of convening a North–South peace summit and unifying the peninsula. Begrudgingly, the Clinton administration agreed to let Carter meet with Kim as long as Carter made clear that he was a private citizen and that he was merely gathering information on the North Korean perspective, which he would then report back to the Clinton administration.

Walmart Is Stopping All Of It’s DEI Programs Which Means The Programs Are Trash

New report says that Walmart is rolling back it’s DEI programs. The left is blaming pressure from conservatives.

Is it possible that it is insane to have a program that is based on anything but merit? Every time the left pretends to fix a problem have you notice that the problem gets worst?

After the crackhead George Floyd died, they created a racial equity center. America is now rejecting these LGBTQ woke bullshit programs.

Jaguar recently had a commercial that was catering to this woke crap. I guess they did not learn anything from Bud light and Target.

Walmart is the nations largest employer with around 1.6 million workers. Yet they felt they had to bend the knee to the politically correct nonsense.

CNBC said “Walmart on Monday confirmed that it’s ending some of its diversity initiatives, removing some LGBTQ-related merchandise from its website and winding down a nonprofit that funded programs for minorities.”

You can’t fix discrimination by implementing bias. Hiring unqualified people does not make your company or country better.

The fact of the matter is, it’s dangerous. I don’t want a DEI person flying my plane, handling my finances, or overseeing national security.

Haven’t we seen enough of this with Kamala Harris the border czar?

4 Fulton jail contractors arrested over cell phones, sex and chicken pot pies

The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office confirmed an ongoing corruption investigation at the Fulton County Jail, resulting in the arrest of four security officers who worked for a contract company.
The investigation, which began in May, has uncovered significant allegations.
Natalie Ammons, director of communications for the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office said the officers, who were employed by Strategic Security, “have all been terminated today but they are considered contractors.”

The Sheriff’s Office reported that one security officer, Breasha Tate, allegedly smuggled cell phones into the jail by hiding them in a cutout inside a book.
Records reveal she confessed to providing six cellphones and other contraband to an inmate and having sex with the inmate on three separate occasions.
The same records indicate Tate received $1,682 in payments via Cash App from the inmate for the contraband.

Ammons said that another terminated security officer, Regina Harris, faces three warrants for providing a contraband cell phone to an inmate.
Laquna Ballard, another ex-employee, is accused of sending explicit photos and videos to an inmate and conspiring to smuggle cigarettes and cell phones into the jail.
The fourth officer, Anizya Silas, faces charges of conspiring to smuggle a phone charger and giving unauthorized food, specifically a chicken pot pie, to an inmate.
“We can’t screen for integrity,” Ammons said.
All four suspects were given bond, but as of late Wednesday afternoon, only one had posted it.
“These women unfortunately chose to be on the wrong side of the law by fraternizing with residents they were entrusted with watching over,” said Sheriff Pat Labat. “They will now have to face the consequences for the crimes they are accused of committing. Our employees and contractors alike are held to a high standard of integrity.”

Kamala Harris’ husband Doug (E) Fresh cheated on first wife with nanny and got her pregnant

Vice President Kamala Harris’ husband Doug Emhoff allegedly cheated on his first wife with the family nanny — and got her pregnant, according to a bombshell report Saturday.
The second gentleman reportedly strayed from then-wife Kerstin over a decade-and-a-half ago with a blonde nanny, Najen Naylor, who taught at a private school attended by their two kids.

The Vice President’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the bombshell report about Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff’s first marriage.

Naylor did not keep the baby, a close friend with direct knowledge of the affair and pregnancy told The Daily Mail. It’s unclear what, exactly, the friend meant.
Naylor didn’t deny the affair or pregnancy when approached by the outlet at her Hamptons home.

“I’m kind of freaked out right now,” she reportedly said.

Naylor could not immediately be reached for additional comment Saturday.

Stacey Brooks, a friend of the Naylor who gave birth to twin boys around the same time Naylor was allegedly expecting, also didn’t deny the claims. Instead, she told the outlet she could not discuss the matter without Naylor’s permission.
The news is reportedly causing serious concern in Harris’ camp despite recent polls showing former President Donald Trump’s battleground-state advantage appears to have evaporated since the veep became the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.
Emhoff, 59, and his movie producer ex-wife divorced in 2009 after she apparently discovered the affair, sources told the outlet. They have a son Cole, 29, and a daughter Ella, a 25-year-old model and fashion designer.
The couple “irreconcilable differences” in their divorce papers, records show.

Messages left with Harris’ camp were not immediately returned Saturday. Kerstin Emhoff, 57, could not immediately be reached.
In September 2009, Naylor posted a video on Facebook to “introduce’ three babies, which she captioned, “Baby party!”
Two of the babies were Brooks’ children, born two months prior to the post.
The third child, who appears slightly younger, does not appear to be Brooks’ daughter, and is not in any later Facebook family photos. It is unclear who the third child’s mother is.

After the alleged affair, which appeared to have taken place around 2008 or 2009, Naylor allegedly had to leave her job as a teacher at The Willows, a swanky private elementary school in Culver City, California, where she had been teaching the Emhoff children and moonlighting as a nanny for the then-couple, the outlet reported.  Tuition fees at the K-8 school ranges from $32,525 to $41,535.
“[Naylor] was a lovely person, a great teacher to my kids,” a mother who sent her children to the school around that time and was aware of the affair, told the Daily Mail.
The woman also told the outlet she was disgusted by Emhoff.
There’s no birth records in Los Angeles County for anyone named “Brook Naylor” born in 2008 or 2009 – nor were there any babies born in the county those years with the last name “Emhoff,” the outlet reported.
The second gentleman is a strong advocate of abortion, telling NBC News in May that men mustn’t view it as a women’s issue, but rather a family issue.
“This is an issue of fairness to women,” Emhoff said.

A friend close to Naylor who knew her around the time of the alleged affair denied the allegations to The Post, insisting Naylor never got pregnant.
“She was adorable; everyone loved her; she was the best teacher,” said the celebrity event planner, who lived with Naylor for more than a year “17 or 18 years ago.”
“Every parent wanted her to be the teacher for their kid. She was the perfect person. She came from a good family. She was not pregnant. There was no baby. I would know,” the source said.
Naylor’s move to New York left the friend “bummed,” she said, adding she hadn’t been in touch with Naylor in recent years, but “heard” Naylor “had two kids recently and [is] so happy for her.”

Drunk Nancy Pelosi Believes Biden Should Be Added to Mt. Rushmore

Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said on this week’s broadcast of “CBS Sunday Morning” that President Joe Biden should be added to Mt. Rushmore.
Host Lesley Stahl asked, “Please tell us what you told President Biden to persuade him to step aside.”

Pelosi said, “Well, I have never shared any conversations with a President of the United States publicly, so no.”

Stahl said, “I understand that you don’t want to own this, but it is so well reported that you were the leader of a pressure campaign.”
Pelosi said, “I wasn’t the leader of any pressure. Let me say things I didn’t do. I didn’t call one person. I did not call one person. I could always say to him, I never called anybody. What I’m saying is I had confidence that the president would make the proper choice for our country, whatever that would be, and I said that. Whatever that is, we’ll go with.”

She added, “He was in a good place to make whatever decision, top of his game. Such a consequential President of the United States., a Mount Rushmore kind of President of the United States.”

Stahl asked, “Are you are saying that he belongs up there on Mount Rushmore? Lincoln and Joe Biden?”
Pelosi said, “You got Teddy Roosevelt up there and he is wonderful. I don’t say take him down, but you could add Biden.”
