Police responded to a call just before 10 p.m. that a woman had been allegedly shot inside a home.
Officers found Nicholson’s 68-year-old mother, Lydia Nicholson, inside with a head wound. She was rushed to a hospital, where she later died of her injuries.

According to a police report, Lydia Nicholson went to check on her son in his bedroom after he became upset while playing video games and began shouting.
Police say Nicholson argued with his mother, broke his video game headset, then blamed her.
He then allegedly grabbed a gun, fired two shots into a wall, then shot his mother before his 81-year-old father wrestled away the weapon.
Nicholson drove off to a relative’s home but was stopped in the town of Riverbank, just north of Ceres.
Nicholson was being held in Stanislaus County Jail with no bond. It was unclear whether he has an attorney.

Texas Democrat Al Green vowed on Friday to force another impeachment vote on the House floor next week. The announcement was made on the back of President Donald Trump’s reported description of African nations, El Salvador and Haiti as “shithole countries.”
“Congressional condemnation of racist bigotry is not enough,” Green said in a tweet. “In Congress, talk is cheap-it’s how we vote that counts. Next week, I will again bring a resolution to impeach @realDonaldTrump. I will put my vote where my mouth is.”
This is the founder of Planned Parenthood and Hillary hero.
On Thursday, The Washington Post reported that, while being briefed on immigration, Trump questioned why immigrants from Haiti, El Salvador and African countries were brought over declaring, “Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?”
It is not the first time Green has pushed to impeach a president. Just last month—in the largest move yet to impeach Trump—Green brought the vote to the floor.
“He has harmed the society of the United States. Brought shame and dishonor to the office of president of the United States,” Green said at the proceeding.

Although not expected to cause any traction, 58 Democrats had voted to begin proceedings, while 364 members had voted against the measure. Green has since vowed to his colleagues that he would continue pushing for another vote.
Trump has “undermined the integrity of his office with impunity, has brought disrepute on the presidency with immunity, has betrayed his trust as president,” Green’s articles of impeachment read.
While some Democrats have pushed for impeachment, party leaders have said that moving for impeachment would not help their hopes of winning back the House of Representatives in the 2018 midterms. “Now is not the time to consider articles of impeachment,” House Minority Leader Pelosi of California and Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer of Maryland, said in a statement.
Responding to Trump’s latest controversial comments, Democratic Senator Richard Durbin said Friday that the language used at the meeting was “hate-filled, vile and racist.”
While facing global heat and widespread commendation, Trump has denied using such language, tweeting, “Never said anything derogatory about Haitians other than Haiti is, obviously, a very poor and troubled country.”
Two men were caught on video fighting each other in a McDonald’s drive-thru in the Australian city of Geraldton.
Footage of the violent brawl was posted on social media and began circulating online Sunday, The West Australian reports.
Originally posted by Instagram user Jedd Bumbak and shared by the account Brown Cardigan, speculation arose over what the men were fighting about.
“Cunt said Fillet O’Fish [sic] is better than Chicken Nuggets,” Brown Cardigan captioned the post.
Oddly enough, this statement sparked a debate over which of the two classic menu items is better.
“Fillet o fish are about as pleasant as a burning orphanage,” one user wrote.
“Nah fk anyone who thinks little baby chick bone cartilage nuggets are better than fresh organic fillet o fish,” another commented.
Others made their own suggestions of what started the fight.
“That’s how I feel when they tell me the soft serve machine isn’t working,” one user wrote.
“Probs just pissed off that hash browns are now $1.80 instead of a dollar,” suggested another.
This isn’t the first time McDonald’s has been the site of a physical altercation. Last month, two women at a drive-through in Indiana reportedly lunged through the window at the manager who told them they never ordered McNuggets and would have to go through the line again.

Brown University Will Allow Students to ‘Self-Identify’ as a Person of Color
Brown University has announced a change to their application process that will allow applicants to “self-identify” as a person of color.
According to The College Fix, the policy is the result of complaints made by Asian-American and international students that they aren’t yet categorized as members of historically underrepresented groups. Historically, Brown has restricted minority status to “American Indian, Alaskan Native, African American, Hispanic or Latinx and Native Hawaiian and/or Pacific Islander” students.
“Duncan acknowledged that while the University’s classification system did result in international and Asian American students not receiving these invitations, she said that the graduate school will change its application for the upcoming admissions cycle to allow students to self-identify as a student of color,” an article in the Brown Daily Herald read.
One graduate student told the Herald that Brown’s decision to limit minority status to only a select group made certain students feel invisible.
“The University does not classify international students as students of color and Asian American students as HUGs: These decisions have led to “institutional invisibility,” Kelow-Bennett said, adding that such lapses caused some students to not receive invitations to certain events, such as a multicultural student dinner,” the report read.
Although the program is primarily designed for the purposes of allowing students outside of the groups traditionally designated by Brown to be underrepresented to be included, the College Fix suggests that, under the new system, any student will be able to “self-identify” as a person of color.
When asked, Brown University refused to explain how minority status affects admissions decisions. The College Fix reached out to Marlina Duncan, the dean of diversity initiatives at Brown about the impact of minority status on admission, but she did not respond to the outlet’s inquiry. Several other members of the Brown University administration refused to directly answer questions on the impact of minority status on admission.
Whine House Down: Clinton Suspends Media after Falling, Hurting Foot in UK
British media producers were left asking ‘What Happened?’ Monday, after failed U.S. presidential candidate Hillary Clinton chose to cancel television and radio appearances promoting her new book in the United Kingdom.
Clinton’s tour went from bad to worse Monday as she missed planned appearances on the BBC’s Woman’s Hour slot, the This Morning show on ITV, and a pre-tape for the BBC’s Graham Norton Show. Britain’s Daily Mail reports a source who said Clinton was “exhausted” by her promotional tour, that she had fallen and hurt her foot, and was awaiting the results of an x-ray to decide whether to cancel all further appearances.
Recording for the Graham Norton show was rescheduled and Clinton was seen in studio wearing a leg brace.
The incident will recall the number of occasions during the 2016 presidential race when Clinton was seen to fall and stumble, prompting questions over her health.

Criticising the former UKIP leader and Brexit pioneer, Clinton said: “Looking at Brexit, it was a precursor to what happened to us in the United States… You had Farage campaigning for Trump. The big lie is a very potent tool.”
Serving the accusation back on his LBC radio show, Mr Farage retorted: “Hillary Clinton is in a state of denial, she’s making herself look, frankly, ridiculous”.
This latest fall comes just two days after Clinton received a negative reaction at the Swansea University where she was visiting to be given an honorary doctorate. As she made the short walk from her vehicle to the doors of the university, boos and jeers could be heard from the assembled crowd, as well as at least one individual shouting “fascist” at the Democrat leader.
As well as promoting her book, Clinton has used her time in the United Kingdom to lash out at those she perceived as her enemies, including blaming Russian hackers for leaking emails assisted by Wikileaks, Macedonian fake news factories, and even Nigel Farage.
